La casa nella pineta. Storia di una famiglia borghese del Novecento
ril. Nella primavera del 1962 la famiglia Ichino riceve una visita dell'amico don Lorenzo Milani. Indicando i libri e il benessere che si respira in quel salotto milanese, il priore si rivolge a Pietro, tredicenne: "Per tutto questo non sei ancora in colpa; ma dal giorno in cui sarai maggiorenne, se non restituisci tutto, incomincia a essere peccato". Marchiato a fuoco da questo monito, che pur nella sua radicalità racchiude in sé molti altri insegnamenti familiari, il protagonista di queste pagine rifiuta di intraprendere la carriera di avvocato al fianco del padre amatissimo per dedicarsi al movimento operaio, ritrovarsi cooptato nel palazzo del potere ma poi farsene cacciare, studiare il Diritto del lavoro nell'epoca drammatica della fine delle ideologie, del terrorismo rosso e poi della sua nuova fiammata al passaggio del millennio. In questo libro insolito, al confine tra un racconto intimo e il grande affresco di un'epoca, le vicende pubbliche si intrecciano alla storia di una famiglia italiana che raccoglie in sé l'eredità ebraica e un cattolicesimo dalla forte vocazione sociale e che ha eletto la Versilia a proprio luogo dello spirito. In un'umida sera dell'ottobre 1860 anche a Donnafugata era arrivata l'Italia. «Dietro la scrivania di don Calogero fiammeggiava una oleografia di Garibaldi e (di già) una di Vittorio Emanuele, fortunatamente collocata a destra». Don Fabrizio Salina ebbe il buon gusto di non brindare con il pretesto che «le grandi gioie sono mute». Da quel momento gattopardi, "uomini militanti", voltagabbana di mestiere, capitani di ventura saranno protagonisti della non bucolica storia dell'identità italiana. Francesco De Sanctis fin dagli anni della Scuola di Vico Bisi, conclusa sulle barricate del '48, aveva esortato le nuove generazioni a credere nella concretezza dell'Idea e nell'intimo rapporto tra la Scienza e la Vita. Le vicende post-unitarie, oltre la cortina dei travestimenti patriottici, esaltarono la supremazia di quell'Uomo del Guicciardini che tradiva le utopie concrete per rinnovare antichi vizi e seducenti corruzioni. Eppure l'"uomo militante" non ha smesso di postulare, pur nella complessità delle tante Italie, il senso vivente della conoscenza e della non defilata militanza. Il meridionalista Leopoldo Franchetti (livornese come il rivoluzionario Carlo Bini), costituì un audace esempio di questa esplorazione tra i perenni conflitti della modernità.

La filosofia, praticata attraverso la curiosità e gli occhi dei bambini, si è rivelata essere uno straordinario strumento per stimolare nei cittadini di domani la possibilità di una veglia critica sul presente e di un'attenzione sempre attiva e propositiva nei confronti degli altri e del contesto che li circonda. Piccoli peripatetici che, insieme, imparando a pensare e ad agire "da grandi", immaginano mondi e prospettive apparentemente astratte e lontane, ma in realtà quanto mai necessarie per una crescita sana e responsabile. Si tratta dell'utopia socratica di un'oralità lasciata a se stessa, di un insegnamento che è fatto soprattutto di ascolto, di una maieutica intimamente orientata all'infinito e libero aprirsi del dialogo. Il libro tenta di raccogliere le tracce di ciò che via via è stato disseminato, senza naturalmente pretendere di raccontare fedelmente ciò che in quelle irripetibili situazioni insieme ai bambini si è di volta in volta creato e condiviso. Come tentare di forzare, in qualche modo, il divieto socratico, quell'impossibilità di riportare in scrittura la viva e aperta oralità del dialogo filosofico, che i piccoli allievi hanno scoperto, e fatto scoprire, in tutta la sua bellezza. He is best known for his accounts often imbued with firsthand information of the French aristocracy.<p>Maria Amalia of Naples and Sicily 1782-1866 became Queen of France when her husband Louis-Philippe Duke of Orleans acceded to the French throne following the July Revolution of 1830.
