br. Sembrerebbe tutto semplice: un compositore sceglie un libretto e lo mette in musica, rivestendo le parole di note. Per Mozart è il contrario: vengono prima la musica, poi le parole. Perché per lui la poesia deve essere 'figlia ubbidiente della musica'. E al compositore che spettano le scelte drammaturgiche, è la musica che deve determinare il 'tono', il ritmo, il senso stesso del dramma. E infatti nelle tre opere "Le nozze di Figaro", "Don Giovanni", "Così fan tutte", Mozart non si limita affatto a valorizzare gli ottimi libretti di Lorenzo Da Ponte. Scopre possibilità drammatiche latenti nelle pieghe del testo, lo reinterpreta, gli dà un senso nuovo attraverso la musica. Gli elementi della partitura interagiscono in modo miracoloso nel creare uno specifico colore, una perfetta atmosfera, un preciso ritmo drammatico. Giovanni Bietti conduce alla scoperta delle caratteristiche drammatiche e musicali delle tre opere mozartiane. Scopriremo ad esempio perché il "Don Giovanni", un'opera che comincia con un tentativo di stupro e un assassinio, e che finisce con la morte del protagonista, sia stato definito da Mozart un'opera buffa. Il senso c'è, ma non lo si capisce semplicemente dal testo: bisogna tendere l'orecchio alla musica, al suo linguaggio e alla sua stupefacente varietà.

brossura Personalità vibratile e tormentata di tenore dalla voce d'impatto eccezionale, monolitica eppure addestrata a virtuosismi tecnici inattesi, a tanta dottrina vocale Franco Corelli pervenne attraverso un affinamento né facile né indolore, tra dubbi e dilemmi, scoramenti ed orgogliose consapevolezze, sofferti in privatissima solitudine, sia pure con il sostegno di una consorte che seppe svolgere per lui una discussa quanto insostituibile funzione di music coach. Artista di prestigio incontestabile, collega alla pari di celebrate primedonne (Nilsson, Tebaldi, Callas) Corelli vantava una prestanza d'atleta, rara avis nella categoria tenorile che annovera ancora troppe sagome risibilmente inadeguate. Figurava per questo romanticamente credibile in tanti eroi del teatro verdiano (Alvaro, Ernani, Manrico pressoché ineguagliabile), o nelle più prestanti delle figure pucciniane (in primis, Calaf eclatante). Sensazionale Raoul de Nangis e Pollione mai inferiore a quelli più celebrati, in Carmen fu un veemente José dando uguale risalto alla facies piagata del personaggio. Prestando ascolto ad una capacità di autocritica fin eccessiva che lo determinò a farsi rimpiangere piuttosto che compiangere, Corelli preferì abbandonare le scene dopo venticinque anni e più di carriera internazionale (tra Scala, San Carlo, MMF, Staatsoper di Vienna, Met), forte di un lascito documentale esaustivo quanto pochi altri.
