The first play Agatha Christie's Ten Little Niggers is to take place on March 26th for one week no perfomance Good Friday and is accompanied by the subtitle "nine victims- and one unknown killer- marooned on a desert island.". The play was first published by Christie in 1939. The book was named after a popular nursery rhyme of the same name. The American edition was "Ten Little Indians". The name was later adapted to the last line of the rhyme "And Then There Were None". "The Happiest Days of Your Life" the second play on the broadside by John Dighton and produced by Leslie Phillips was to take place April 2nd for one week as a special Easter Holiday Attraction. It is described as "A wildly funny farce about a boys' school and a girls' school- on the same premise! The most hilarious evening of your life!". Il Coliseo de los Caños del Peral di Madrid fu in un primo tempo un costruito nel XVIII secolo su un'antica fontana, conosciuta come "fonte del pero" richiesta dell'attore italiano Francesco Bartoli. Nel 1737, Filippo V volle un nuovo teatro più grande, inaugurato nel 1738, con il Demetrio del Metastasio. Durante il regno di Carlos IV ebbe una rinascita per la notevole attività operistica italiana, con rappresentazioni da Cimarosa, Paisiello, Gluck. Fece parte della compagnia anche il tenore Manuel García, che nel 1802 presentò a Madrid Le nozze di Figaro di Mozart. Fu il teatro italiano per eccellenza, in seguito all'introduzione del melodramma sulle scene spagnole (Leza, p. 140) in quel processo di "italianizzazione" perseguito dal Farinelli e incoraggiato dalla presenza di musicisti italiani a corte e presso i nobili spagnoli. Cloth a little flecked and lightly rubbed; head and foot of the spine lightly bumped; margins trimmed with occasional loss of print in the first and last lines; an excellent copy. Bound in contemporary watered cloth with 20 similar opera libretti with colonial imprints: twelve from Melbourne three are dated 1860 1873 and 1882; four from Sydney two are dated 1866 and 1870; two from Adelaide 1871 and 1884 and one each from Auckland 1884 and Calcutta 1871. Four leaves in one are torn with slight loss; one front wrapper is torn; three lack the rear wrapper and a further five lack both wrappers; overall they are in excellent condition. A later duplicate typescript index is bound in: contents include 'Lohengrin' 'Il Trovatore' thrice 'Aida' 'Norma' and 'Le Nozze di Figaro'. With the bookplate and signature of and bound by F.W. This ballet based on that of Marius Petipa and Serguei Khoudekov was choregraphed by Rudolf Noureev or Nureyev in 1992 and is the first three-act as opposed to four-act rendition. Although the plot synopsis one page is rendered in German and English as well as French the rest of the playbill is entirely in French. It's quite a long playbill 125 pages plus endmatter advertising and has photos from the production in both b&w and color.
