Ensemble complet des 91 planches originales (23 x 15 cm) à l'encre de Chine sur feuilles doubles bristol 35 x 25 cm pour la plupart (quelques planches simples). Bulles refaites pour textes français, corrections au blanc, retouches au feutre ou à l'encre. Planches prêtes pour être imprimées en France (version française adaptée). Les dessins originaux ne sont pas signés mais sont de l'artiste de Fumetti italien Stelio Fenzo. Cette histoire mélange le tout Paris de la Rue du Faubourg St Honoré de la mode avec scènes gay, lesbien etc. Stelio Fenzo (né à Venise le 3 septembre 1932) est un dessinateur et un scénariste italien de bande dessinée. Après avoir envisagé une carrière d'architecte, Stelio Fenzo se lance dans la bande dessinée en 1947 en rejoignant la revue l' Asso di Pischecréée par Mario Faustinelli et Alberto Ongaro, à laquelle collabore notamment Hugo Pratt dont il devient l'assistant et l'ami et ou il publie sa première histoire Indocina. Il entre au Giornale illustrato en 1948 4 puis au Vittorioso en 1950. En 1952, il part en Angleterre et travaille pendant une dizaine d'années avec les maisons d'éditions Fleetway et DC Thompson, dessinant principalement des histoires sentimentales et policières. En 1962, à son retour en Italie, il reprend plusieurs séries animées par Hugo Pratt, telles que Capitaine Cormorant et Kiwi. En 1968, il se tourne vers la bande dessinée érotique, créant notamment le personnage de Jungla pour les éditions Ediperiodici, qu'il dessine jusqu'en 1971, Mario Cubbino lui succédant alors. Il fournit un nombre impressionnant d'histoires pour magazines de bandes dessinées pour adultes dont beaucoup sont adaptées en français par Elvifrance pour ses diverses publications (Contes Satyriques, Culbutant, Histoires Sanglantes, Outre-Tombe…). Parallèlement à cette activité, Stelio Fenzo collabore à compter de 1971 au magazine catholique Giornalino destiné à la jeunesse. Pour ce public, il produit de nombreuses séries dans les genres les plus variés : le western avec I raconti di Saloon, les aventures exotiques avec Amar-Singh… et adapte en bande dessinée des classiques de la littérature tels que Kim ou Le Dernier des Mohicans. Fumetti est le nom donné en Italie à la bande dessinée. « Fumetti » signifie « petites fumées », en référence à l'aspect des bulles servant à faire parler les personnages. Les Fumetti italiens ont été popularisés en France par la maison d'édition ELVIFRANCE dans les années 70 et jusque dans les années 90. BEL EXEMPLAIRE COMPLET DE TOUTES LES PLANCHES DE CETTE HISTOIRE. Les exemplaires complets de toutes les planches originales d'une même histoire deviennent rarissime. La plupart ayant été lamentablement démantelés et vendus à la planche sans aucun scrupule. Illustrated with 7 black and white full-page drawings by Beresford Egan. A near very good copy the binding firm with dust soiling to the covers wear to the extremities and chipping to the spine. The contents with a previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown foxing to the endpapers and the occasional mark to page margins are otherwise in good order. The drawings remain clean and bright. Percy Reginald Stephensen 1901-1965 was an Australian writer publisher and political activist first for the Communists and later for far-right groups. In this satirical work he mocks the Conservative politician Sir William Joynson-Hicks who was well-known for his authoritarianism his campaigns against Communism and his attempts to clamp down on nightclubs and what he saw as the indecent literature of the roaring twenties or what he termed "the flood of filth coming across the Channel". Notably he was heavily implicated in the banning of Radclyffe Hall's lesbian novel The Well of Loneliness 1928 as well as in forcing the publication of Lady Chatterley's Lover in an expurgated version. As D.H. Lawrence was a good friend of Stephensen this was perhaps part of the reason for the present satire. Egan's drawings greatly influenced by the work of Aubrey Beardsley and imbued with the spirit of 1920s decadence provide the perfect riposte to Joynson-Hick's reactionary moralising. <p>Gotham Book Mart 1948. Limited. Pamphlet. Collectible - Very Good/No Jacket. 10.1 x 7 with olive green paper wrappings. Sewn spine. 96 line poem. One of 500 copies. Prospero pamphet. Designed & printed by Banyan Press in March 1948. Set by hand in Garamond faces. Printed on Etruria paper. Drawings on Zebu paper. Side page edges creased as are bottom edges. About an inch-long closed tear on back cover from side edge. Couple small ink marks on inside back cover. Covers are faded in places to light brown.</p> Gotham Book Mart

Cummington MA: Cummington Press 1945. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Very good. Large octavo unpaginated. A notoriously fragile book and one of only "a few" per Edelstein see below copies bound in rose-colored Japanese Natsume straw-paper over boards. The calf spine is worn at the extremities but less so than is often seen and the binding is sound. Gentle wear to corners but a sharp internally clean example; very good. Lacking as usual the plain glassine dust jacket. This is number 260 of 300 limited copies another 40 were signed by Stevens. Edelstein A10 references an unpublished letter from Harry Duncan publisher of the Cummington Press to Stevens which reads in part: "Five copies will be mailed to you on Monday. One of these is covered with rose paper not with the green . Only a few copies have it all the available green paper not quite being enough for the entire edition." Furthermore of the six locations noted by Edelstein only Holly Stevens's copy is in the rose binding. A desirable copy. Cummington Press hardcover
