Published by the house of the seminal printer of Hebrew books Daniel Bomberg under the supervision of his scholar-in-residence extraordinaire Cornelio Adelkind. Venetian law at this time limited Hebrew publishing to Gentile printers. Bomberg a protestant from Antwerp entered this lucrative market and with Adelkind's help became its prime exponent until his death in 1549. . Folio 32 cm; 93 leaves. Text in Hebrew. Soon he ends up in the middle of the Algerian Civil War and is captured by enemies and held in a prisoner of war camp for six months. Upon his release he is required to finish his term of service with the Legion but instead he is dishonorably discharged. <br/><br/>Set in Europe and North Africa. <br/><br/>Script #1 <br/><br/>Black untitled wrappers noted as work copy #3 on the front wrapper. The entire piece measures 12.5 inches by 13 inches. David Ben-Gurion was the primary founder of the State of Israel and the first Prime Minister of Israel. Ben-Gurion's passion for Zionism which began early in life led him to become a major Zionist leader and Executive Head of the World Zionist Organization in 1946. As head of the Jewish Agency from 1935 and later president of the Jewish Agency Executive he was the de facto leader of the Jewish community in Palestine and largely led its struggle for an independent Jewish state in Mandatory Palestine. On 14 May 1948 he formally proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel and was the first to sign the Israeli Declaration of Independence which he had helped to write. Ben-Gurion led Israel during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War and united the various Jewish militias into the Israel Defense Forces. Subsequently he became known as "Israel's founding father." unknown books

Featuring Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland laughing together in conversation while then-toddler Liza Minnelli tugs on her mother's hand in the foreground. Mimeograph snipe and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer rubber stamp to the verso. <br/><br/>A highly fictionalized and especially glamorous account of the creative partnership between Lorenz Hart and Richard Rodgers. The star-studded film billed as "the biggest musical in Technicolor" was a hit at the box office though still barely able to recoup its heavy production costs. Rooney and Garland's final on-screen appearance together. <br/><br/>The film was criticized for having sanitized the mental health problems and self-destructive behavior Hart suffered from that ultimately led to the break-up of the partnership as well as for omitting any mention of his homosexuality instead fabricating a fictional romantic attachment to a "Peggy McNeil." <br/><br/>Set in New York City and Los Angeles. <br/><br/>8 x 10 inches. The still features a photographic proof trial poster for their 1934 short "In the Devildog House" here with the working title "Devil Dog House". <br/><br/>In this short two detectives are plagued by the practical joke-pulling president of a novelty toy company. <br/><br/>6 x 10 inches. God's Little Acre Two original photographs from the 1958 film
Beverly Hills CA: United Artists 1958. Two vintage oversize borderless double weight reference studio still photographs from the 1958 film. <br/><br/>Just as Caldwell's 1933 novel was met with scrutiny and censorship upon its publication the film adaptation twenty-five years later met with similar disapproval. Scenes involving Tina Louise and actress Fay Spain were perceived as obscene the film was said to call marital fidelity into question and even worse: the film portrayed a popular uprising of mill workers. Many theaters either banned the film entirely or admitted only movie-goers ages 18 and up. <br/><br/>Though written by Ben Maddow a blacklisted radical leftist documentary and poetry writer screenwriting for the film was attributed to Philip Yordan a writer often credited for scripts written by blacklisted authors. Tina Louise won a Golden Globe for Most Promising Newcomer for the film her debut role. <br/><br/>Set in the American South shot on location in California. <br/> <br/>8 x 10 inches.
