The Carr Ryder & Adams companies were well-known throughout the Midwest for their Arts & Crafts millwork and plans and this catalogue was considered at the time to be one of the most artistic and finest produced. The sections on leaded art glass are filled with illustrations of stunning windows doors and other light screens with the influence of Frank Lloyd Wright ‘s signature pieces as seen in the Martin House Complex completed only a few years before. In addition the catalogue devotes an entire section to “Leadless†art glass windows and their effects in full colour. This catalogue also shows the company’s exclusive line of sideboards book cases kitchen cupboards medicine cases stairs fireplaces wainscotting all produced with quarter-sawn oak and fir trims as well as colonnades and built-in cabinets. Carr Ryder & Adams was the predecessor of CARADCO manufactuer of Bilt-Well Woodwork and incorporated originaly in 1887 as the Carr Ryder & Wheeler Co. and then later as the Carr Ryder & Adams Co. in 1897 which it would remain until 1938.
