One handstamp by the architectural historian Der Scutt, on the front endpaper. Written by Lewis A. Coffin, Henry M. Polhemus and Addison F. Worthington. Illustrated throughout in black & white with vintage photographs of older traditional French architecture of town and country. It covers cottages, churches and chapels, chateaux, manors, and farm buildings. 12" high X 8" wide, 275 pages. Large heavy book, foreign shipping will be extra. This is a very good softcover copy with almost no wear. Completely clean inside, covers clean, faintly toned. This catalog was prepared by the Belsize Park Conservation Area, (no date but ca. 1986) for an exhibition. The idea for the exhibition was to examine the neighborhood, 'Belsize Park' and try to resolve some of the questions about preservation versus new construction. Belsize Park was Arthur Rackham's last residence. Alfred Stevens lived there, also Agatha Christie. A number of well known architects have designed buildings there, for example C.F. Voysey and Wells Coates. It was also home to a number of modern architects: James Stirling, Norman Foster, Robin Spence and Richard Rogers among others. Essays by Leon Krier, Andrew Saint, John Summerson, Jack Pritchard, Robin Spence, Gwen Barnard, Christopher Wade, Lady Read, and Roy Allen. Exposition ""Le volume bleu et jaune"" Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais à Paris du 15 mars 1975 au 5 mai 1975 sous l'égide du secrétariat de la culture et du ministère de l'équipement"". Introduction : La lumière donne accès à l'ESPACE dans lequel les formes sont perceptibles. Les travaux présentés ici tentent d'approcher l'ÉTUDE DE LA FORME construite, fondé et pratiquée. La forme abordée à l'aide des volumes virtuels que sont : les ""ESPACES EN ANGLE MORT"", LES ""COULOIRS DE TRANSPARENCE"", les ""CORPS LUMINEUX"", qui constituent un langage plastique qui informe sur l'espace en tant que MILIEU D'ÉVOLUTION. Les ensembles considérés permettent l'élaboration d'images de synthèse ayant une définition géométrique précise. Le ""Volume Bleu et Jaune"" est un lieu couvert dans lequel la prise en considération de l'espace a été effectuée par des marquages colorés sur les parois internes. Les dessins, les construction et les photographies montre le déroulement des actions successives et aident à la compréhension du mode de traitement de l'espace explicité dans ce lieu ; couverture légèrement salie, intérieur frais, bon état. Livraison a domicile (La Poste) ou en Mondial Relay sur simple demande."
