Bilingual greek-english exhibition catalogue. Soft cover 21 cm 339 pp. 305 pictures and drawings; includes 74 projects and designs from 1952 to the present day some of which were carried out others which were never built and includes photographs designs sketches and a short description of each project undertaken by the architect. To be specific the catalogue presents: 7 early works; 15 planning developmental designs and tourist projects; 9 cultural projects; 16 urban buildings and banks; 9 revisions and additions to existing buildings; 1 industrial space; and 17 single family dwellings. // C. Dekavallas was born in Athens in 1925. He studied at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens N.T.U.A. 1948; at Columbia University New York 1953; and the University of London 1956. On returning to Greece he worked on the Asteras tourist complex in Glyfada and subsequently at the Ministry of Public Works in charge of the Reconstruction of Santorini. From 1960 to 1969 he was the architect for the National Bank of Greece while from 1960 to the present day he has maintained an architectural and town-planning design practice. In 1980 he was elected a professor of the N.T.U.A. School of Architecture. The four “credos†of C. Dekavallas which reflect both his personality and his work are: incorporating a building into its natural environment and utilising bioclimatic architecture; respect for the structural environment; organically incorporating visual arts into a building; and most importantly the knowledge and joy an architect has in collaborating with a team. His oeuvre includes studies from the largest scale of architecture down to the very smallest scale; carried out by himself or with a team of collaborators but always displaying the same consistency and sensitivity. // C. Estudio en la Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad Nacional Politecnica “Metsovio†de Atenas Å.Ì.P. 1948 en la Universidad Columbia de Nueva York 1953 y en la Univesridad de Londres 1956. A su vuelta a Grecia trabajo para el complejo turistico de Astera de Glyfada y a continuacion en el Ministerio de Obras Publicas como responsable de la Reconstruccion de la isla de Santorini. De 1960 a 1969 fue el arquitecto del Banco Nacional a la vez que desde 1960 y hasta la fecha tiene su propio estudio de arquitectura y proyectos urbanisticos. En 1980 fue nombrado profesor de la Escuela de Arquitectura de la E.M.P. Los cuatro «credo» de C. Decavallas que reflejan su personalidad y su obra son: la insercion del edificio en el medio natural y la arquitectura bioclimatica el respeto al entorno constructivo la incorporacipon organica de las obras plasticas en el edificio y ante todo el conocimiento y el placer que otorga al arquitecto la colaboracion con el grupo.
