The text is illustrated with numerous photographs of the author's house in various states of restoration. Green coloured cloth covered boards with dark blue coloured embossed decoration to the front edge and to the top and rear edges of the back strip. Dark blue coloured embossed titles to the front panel and back strip. Photographic dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The story of how the author found a derelict country home in Kent � trees growing through the brick floor no windows or doors etc. - fell in love with it bought it and restored it. Softening of the back strip edges with fading also present commensurate with loss of dustwrapper. Rubbing of the book corners along with some bumping. Tanning of the text block edges and pages with scattered foxing to the text block edges. There is a stain runs full length of the front and rear hinges and there is a little foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book previous owners initials to the front paste-down and the there has been a small poem pasted to the free front end page. Annotations to the rear free end page. The dustwrapper is not in great shape � please see photograph. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges various amounts of loss there is a 3 inch tear along the front fold over crease with smaller tears to the other three corners and various flaps of the dustwrapper been torn. There is a 2 inch tear to the top right-hand corner of the rear panel with associated creasing. Foxing of the rear panel and verso along with some browning presses to the verso. Second Printing.
