La Société des logements populaires hygiéniques a été fondée à Paris, le 22 janvier 1908 par des médecins, dont le Dr Peyrot, président. Composée de philanthropes et de banquiers, dont Georges Risler, la société se donnait comme but de fournir des logements aux ouvriers ayant un salaire de 6 francs par jours, c'est-à-dire pour la frange inférieure de la population, initiative qui valut à la société d'être couronnée à plusieurs concours et expositions. Contient en fin un bulletin de souscription.‎

‎Hackaert ist vermutlich zwischen dem 26.07. und 24.08.1654 oder zwischen dem 26.07.1654 und 28.05.1655 in Italien gewesen. Darüber hinaus sind Ansichten von Martigny und bei Lausanne in alten Katalogen nachzuweisen. Hackaerts Lehrer sind nicht bekannt. Reisen in die Schweiz und nach Italien sind durch einen Klebeband belegt, der sich im Besitz des Kunsthauses Zürich befindet. Zeichnungen mit Schweizer Motiven befinden sich in dem berühmten Atlas von Joan Blaeu (Kartograph, 1596-1673) in der Nationalbibliothek in Wien. Hackaert zeichnete holländische und italienische Landschaften, Flußtäler mit bewaldeten Hängen. Entweder sind es einfache lavierte Federskizzen nach der Natur oder durchgeführte Landschaftskompositionen, die an seine selteneren Gemälde erinnern. Charakteristisch ist die umrahmende Zeichnung des Blattwerkes und eine kleine skizzenhafte Staffage. Auch ist das Sonnenlicht, das um Stamm und Laub spielt, besonders betont.‎

Ob es sich um Ruinen aus dem Colosseum oder aus den Caracalla-Thermen handelt ist nicht zweifelsfrei festzustellen. An beiden Orten hat Hackert wiederholt gezeichnet, was durch mehrere Zeichnungen belegt ist. Vgl. C. Nordhoff / H. Reimer, Jakob Philipp Hackert. Verzeichnis seiner Werke. 2 Bde. ‎Nach erstem Unterricht bei seinem Vater Philipp (gest. 1786) und seinem Onkel Johann Gottlieb Hackert, einem Berliner Maler, besuchte Jakob Philipp ab 1758 die Berliner Akademie. Die Jahre 1765-1768 verbrachte er gemeinsam mit Balthasar Anton Dunker (1746-1807) in Paris, wo ihn besonders die Maler Claude Joseph I. Vernet (1714-1789) und Johann Georg Wille (1715-1808) prägten. 1768 reiste Hackert gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder Johann Gottlieb (1755-1805) nach Rom, wo er die wichtigen Kunstmäzene Johann Friedrich Reiffenstein und William Hamilton kennenlernte. In den nächsten Jahren bereiste er ganz Italien, wo er rasch großen Erfolg als Landschaftsmaler hatte und zahlreiche Aufträge durch den europäischen Adel erhielt. 1786 ging er nach Neapel, wo er Hofmaler von König Ferdinand IV. wurde. Dort traf Hackert in diesem Jahr auch Goethe, der Zeichenunterricht bei ihm nahm. Infolge des Lazzaroni-Aufstandes mußte Hackert aus Neapel fliehen und ließ sich nach Aufenthalten in Livorno und Pisa schließlich in Florenz nieder.‎

First edition of this rare monumental two-volume set in which an inventory is kept of almost all architectural buildings such as mosques, masjids, fountains, schools, and lodges in Ottoman Istanbul and its surroundings, built since Sultan Mehmet II up to 1768, in a traveler style, by Ayvansarayî, who was hafiz and janissary sekban who lived in the 18th century. "This excellent book has an extremely important place in the literature not only in terms of architectural works and topography but also as a historical source of Constantinople". (Hammer). Long recognized by Turkish scholars as a unique source of Istanbul's architecture and urban form, the text, which was started in 1182 (1768-69) and completed in 1195/1780 and revised and enlarged between 1248/1832-33 and 1253/1838 by Ali Sati, son of Mahmud Efendi, one of the judges of Medina, contains separate descriptions of each of Istanbul's more than 800 mosques, plus accounts of its madrasahs, tombs, tekkes and other monuments. The annotations place each of these buildings within the city's urban plan and provide biographical information about the patrons, architects, and other personalities mentioned in the text. Ayvansarayi's original text, which survives in a number of manuscript copies, was enlarged in the 1830s by Ali Sati Efendi, whose reworking was published in print in 1865 and has thus become the best-known version of the Hadika. The author, who first visited the mosques and masjids inside the city walls in a topographic order, then examined the ones outside the city walls, then discussed Eyüp, Galata, both sides of the Bosphorus, Üsküdar (Scutari), Kadiköy (Khalkedon) mosques and masjids. After giving the name of the building in each article, if a mosque was transformed from the church, he noted this issue and recorded the name of the person who had it built. If known, he also indicates where this person's grave is located. Detailed info about the restoration of the architectural building has been restored. And he gives detailed information on additional facilities such as a public fountain, sebil, school, madrasah, and in some cases the people who lie in its burial ground, with brief information about the foundation of this charitable building.
