‎Georges Remi wordt geboren te Brussel op 22 mei 1907. Als jonge snaak gaat hij naar het Sint-Boniface college in Brussel waar hij zich al snel blijkt te vervelen. In 1921 komt hij via het college in aanraking met de scouts waar hij de bijnaam ""nieuwsgierige vos"" krijgt. Ze eerste tekeningen dateren van deze tijd en verschijnen voor het eerst in ""Jammais Assez"", het schooltijdschrift van de scouts. Vanaf 1923, Remi is dan 16, verschijnen er ook regelmatig tekeningen in ""Le Boy-scout"", het maandblad voor de Belgische scouts. Vanaf nu signeert hij al zijn tekeningen met Herg , de initialen van Remi Georges (in het Frans uitgesproken). Na zijn militaire dienst wordt Herg benoemd tot hoofdredacteur van ""Petit Vingti me"", welke een bijlage is voor jongeren van het weekblad ""Vingti me Si cle"". Het eerste nummer verschijnt op 1 november 1928. Enkele maanden later, namelijk op 10 januari 1929, verschijnt in dit weekblad een nieuw personage, Kuifje. Door het feit dat Herg ondertussen ook Quick en Flupke heeft bedacht, een stripreeks gebaseerd op twee Brusselse kwajongens, moeten we een jaar wachten op het eerste album van Kuifje, ""Kuifje in de Sovjetunie"". Ondertussen is Casterman de uitgever van de avonturen van Kuifje geworden en wat tot nu toe een spelletje was voor Herg , begint serieus te worden. Herg is overtuigd van de belangrijkheid om een goed scenario te hebben en de noodzaak om zich grondig te documenteren. In 1935, Herg is nog altijd maar 28, tekent hij voor het franse weekblad ""Coeurs vaillants"" een nieuwe serie met nieuwe helden: Jo, Suus en Jokko. Er zullen in totaal 5 albums verschijnen. Op 10 mei 1940 wordt Belgi bezet door duitse troepen. Het tijdschrift ""Le vingti me Si cle"" en ook ""Le petit Vingti me"" verdwijnen. De publikatie van ""Kuifje en het zwarte goud"" zal 8 jaar uitgesteld worden. Herg begint ondertussen aan een ander verhaal. ""De krab met de gulden scharen"" welk verschijnt in het dagblad ""Le Soir"", een van de enige dagbladen die toegelaten zijn door de Duitse bezetters. Als op 3 september 1944 Belgi wordt bevrijdt komt er een einde aan de publikaties in Le Soir. In 1950 gaat Herg de verbintenis aan om het album ""Mannen op de Maan"" te maken, het eist veel technische precisie en de noodzaak om zich zeer goed te documenteren. Herg neemt een paar mensen onder de arm en richt de studio Herg op. Dat Herg enorm geliefd was in eigen land bewees de Belgische vereniging voor sterrekunde die, om Herg 's 75ste verjaardag te vieren, een toen recentelijk ontdekte planeet tussen Mars en Jupiter de naam Herg mee gaf. Op 3 maart 1983 sterft Georges Remi. Hij zal 76 jaar worden. Drie jaar na zijn dood verschijnt het weliswaar nooit voltooide album ""Kuifje en de Alfa-kunst"". Het was Herg 's wens nooit een opvolger aan te duiden, waardoor zijn oeuvre nooit zal verdergezet worden.""‎

This video is a tentative reflection on positive forms of collective resistance against war as well as emancipatory representations concerned with it. The book proposes an alternative for our collective history: the 15th of February 2003. On that day 30 million citizens across the planet marched against the unilateral decision by the American government to start a pre-emptive war against Iraq under the auspices of ?the war on terrorism?. 2/15 was the greatest peace demonstration since the Vietnam war and probably the biggest protest march ever to take place. The war did happen, but this world day of resistance could very well mark the beginning of the 21st century. 2/15 instead of 9/11: a key date in the writing of a history of global contestation in the struggle between two superpowers: the United States against public opinion worldwide.‎

Verder slaat hij door zijn gebrek aan wijsheid de grootste onzin uit, die ook benut kan worden om vileine kritiek te uiten: het is toch maar een gek die het zegt... Daarom nemen vorsten, stadsbesturen en schutterijen een zot in dienst om lucht te kunnen geven aan oplopende spanningen. Bovendien kan deze beroepsdwaas fungeren als antimodel voor de beschavingsidealen van de bourgeoisie. Wild gebarend op zijn stokpaardje demonstreert hij elk gebrek aan beheersing en goede manieren. ‎De architect Nicolaas Lansdorp (1885-1968) was van 1919 tot 1932 de drijvende kracht van de dienst Publieke Werken in Amsterdam. Hierna was hij tot 1955 hoogleraar aan de Faculteit Bouwkunde van de Technische Universiteit Delft. Minder bekend is dat hij een verwoed tekenaar was die architectonische ideeen vastlegde en reis- en natuurschetsen maakte, vaak op poetische wijze. Het handschrift van de architect toont schetsen van Nicolaas Lansdorp en enkele tijdgenoten uit binnen- en buitenland. Het is een pleidooi voor de schets als communicatiemiddel en geeft een inkijkje in de belevingswereld en verbeeldingskracht van de architect.‎
