‎Colorpolis is het resultaat van tien jaar beeldend onderzoek naar kleur, licht, ruimte en ritme in kleine en grote steden. Injas Devoldere laat zich in zijn zoektocht leiden door het toeval. Wat hij ziet, vindt hij door te verdwalen. Hij ensceneert of manipuleert niets, maar plukt beelden uit de gevonden realiteit. Zo maakt hij van de straat een atelier, waarin hij schildert zonder te schilderen, of een theaterdecor, waarin hij een drama ensceneert zonder het te ensceneren. Hij nodigt de kijker uit om te vertragen, om langer en anders te kijken. De kunstenaar raakt niets aan, maar laat zich aanraken door de stad. Daarin ontbreekt de menselijke figuur, hoewel zijn aanwezigheid altijd voelbaar is: in elke vlek, in ieder kleurvlak, in elke kras en in het ritme van de vormen heeft de mens zijn sporen achtergelaten. De kunstenaar ziet deze sporen en vat ze in de compositie van een vierkant. Hij bevrijdt het beeld van de banaliteit waarin het gevangen zit, hij verlost het van de vergankelijkheid en hij geeft het, zorgvuldig en geduldig, aan de eeuwigheid van het kunstwerk. Het resultaat is een spel van lijnen en kleuren, een compositie die soms abstract lijkt, zoals een schilderij van Mondriaan, een spel van evenwicht, waarin hoog met laag verbonden is, en links met rechts. Colorpolis is de verkenning van een stadslichaam, tegelijk abstract en passioneel, rationeel en erotisch, afstandelijk en po tisch, nuchter en melancholisch. Injas Devoldere ( 1963) studeerde vrije grafiek en schilderkunst. Zijn werk bestaat uit schilderijen, zeefdrukken, video?s, installaties, tapijten en theaterdecors, en hij is tevens realisator en curator van kunstprojecten. Zo realiseerde hij het boek Toscania en het videoproject Po ros, telkens in nauwe samenwerking met kunstenaars uit andere disciplines.‎

‎Kleurrijke neerslag van de recente beeldenstorm van kunstenaar Fred Bervoets Schilder en graficus Fred Bervoets (1942) kan terugblikken op een carri re van ruim een halve eeuw. Aanvankelijk gold hij vooral als een volbloed schilder, maar in de jaren tachtig verbaasde hij vriend en vijand met grootse etsen die een picturale benadering koppelden aan grafisch meesterschap. ‎Dat grafiek de jongste decennia in het verdomhoekje is geraakt, is een betreurenswaardige evolutie die sommige museumdirecteuren en beleidsmakers in Vlaanderen mee in de hand hebben gewerkt. Gelukkig zijn er ook mensen met een bredere kijk, bijvoorbeeld bij de stad Brugge die een schitterende collectie aankocht, een overzicht van de prentkunst vanaf de zestiende tot en met de twintigste eeuw. De miskenning van de grafiek is vooral veroorzaakt door de kortzichtigheid van enkele invloedrijke mensen uit het wereldje die vinden ?dat het toch maar om prenten gaat? en dat ?origineel werk voorrang verdient?. Een aantal hogere kunstscholen heeft de grafiek als een ars minor afgebouwd en hun studenten dienen zich verder te bekwamen door les te gaan volgen in het Deeltijds Kunstonderwijs. ‎Summary Johannes Elith strup (1867-1938), son of a Danish farmer, philologist of Turkish and Semitic languages, and later Vice Chancellor of Copenhagen University, spent 1891-1893 travelling by horse around Syria, Lebanon, and Anatolia. ‎Johannes Kahrs was born 1965 in Bremen, Germany. He lives and works in Berlin. Kahrs takes a photo, a video projection or a film still as the starting point of his drawings and oil paintings. He catches fragments of images of politics, show biz, and advertising to reform, re-interpret, and further fictionalize the represented idea by shifting tones and gradations of grey and black pastel, leaving contours blurred. As he experiments with the original from of the image, he detaches the picture from its original meaning. Hence, he finishes with an almost unrecognisable representation and completely new recording of reality.‎
