Library & booksellers blind embossed seals also on title page.Binding solid cover chipped & worn to card at spine ends & corners. Title page lightly foxed; edges of introduction creased two tears. All 50 plates present -- clean intact no tears. Light damp-staining near bottom of covers-- pages unaffected. Mild rubbing & light toning on edges; last plate shows mild foxing on verso. The verso of each plate provides the name of the house location description and any historical data. For example Plate VI is from The Lindens Danvers Mass. "Erected in 1750 by King Hooper and owned by Francis Peabody. It is situated four miles from the City Hall . . . . it has a gambrel roof and was said to have been designed by an English architect. Historical Data -- This house was occupied during the Revolution by General Gage as his headquarters. J. Pierpont Morgan has dined many times here with his friend the late Francis Peabody.
