Uber-scarce in the trade there being only a single copy of this apparent First Edition available and in only one library currently in Lyon France. Latin-language tome a Catholic Church confessional measuring 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" tall and wide respectively. Bound in full leather front board being bowed a bit featuring five raised bands to spine five fleurs-de-lis there and short title "manual" being stamped sharply into one compartment. Red and blue-speckled page edges lightly wavy text-block but clean and unmarked of interior but for first and final pages. Date of publication not stated but appears to be c. 1766 according to a Worldcat dot org entry. Sharply penned inscription at first free endpaper dated to 1770 and then similar hand has penned extensive chronology at final page verso and recto. Images: 23 x 17 cm. .The Royal Monastery of Brou is a religious complex located at Bourg-en-Bresse in the Ain département central France. Made out of monastic buildings in addition to a church they were built at the beginning of the 16th century by Margaret of Austria daughter of the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I and Governor of the Habsburg Netherlands. The complex was designed as a dynastic burial place in the tradition of the Burgundian Champmol and Cîteaux Abbey and the French Saint-Denis. The church is known as the Église Saint-Nicolas-de-Tolentin de Brou in French.Includes: Église de Brou - Mausolée de Marguerite d'Autriche- about 1865–1890---A tomb resembling a stone canopy bed with a reclining figure of a woman at the center.
