A richly colored view of the Sweden & Norway exhibition and the Denmark exhibition inside the Crystal Palace from the first international World's Fair that took place in Hyde Park London England from 1 May to 15 October 1851. From: Dickinson's Comprehensive Pictures of the Great Exhibition of 1851 From the Originals Painted for H.R.H. Prince Albert by Messrs. Joseph Nash Louis Haghe and David Roberts. The text states: "When first the contributions from these countries were talked of we confess to having confined our expectations to seeing tons of iron and steel suggested by the name of Sweden and bushels of wheat and other agricultural produce from Norway. There were of course many specimens of both.but articles to attract the fancy and please the eye were by no means wanting and the jurors thought fit to reward with a prize medal a collection of wooden vessles for vaious domestic purposes ornamented with carfvings done by the native peasantry."
