‎* Albert Gleizes (* 8. Dezember 1881 in Paris; ? 23. Juni 1953 in Avignon) war ein französischer Maler und Schriftsteller. Gleizes, ein Neffe des Malers Léon Comerre, hatte eine Ausbildung als technischer Zeichner, war ein Mitbegründer des Salon d?Automne und Mitglied der Section d?Or und gilt als Vertreter des Kubismus. Seine malerischen Arbeiten untermauerte er durch die Veröffentlichung mehrerer kunsthistorischer und kunstwissenschaftlicher Schriften. Zusammen mit Jean Metzinger verfasste er beispielsweise die Abhandlung Du ?Cubisme? im Jahr 1912 und verwendete damit erstmals den wertfreien Begriff ?Kubismus?. Während des Ersten Weltkriegs lebte er ab Ende 1915 in den USA. Gleizes gründete 1927 die Handwerkergemeinschaft Moly-Sabata, schuf Wandbilder für die Pariser Weltausstellung 1937 und erhielt 1951 den Grand Prix auf der französischen Biennale in Menton. 1937 wurden in der Nazi-Aktion ?Entartete Kunst? fünf seiner Arbeiten aus dem Schlesisches Museum der Bildenden Künste Breslau, den Kunstsammlungen der Universität Göttingen, dem Provinzial-Museum Hannover, dem Stadtmuseum Ulm und dem Schlossmuseum Weimar beschlagnahmt. The third exhibition organized in July 1971 under the title "Arte de Sistemas" Systems Art was important not only because it succeeded in showing numerous renowned international artists such as Vito Acconci Dan Graham Hans Haacke Allan Kaprow Joseph Kosuth and Dennis Oppenheim but also because it followed a strict rule: 101 experimental artists used only one specific construction paper in a single format. This was intended to create a standardized system in which all artists could participate on an equal footing. José‑Carlos Mariátegui Cybernetics and systems art in Latin America: the art and communication center CAyC and its pioneering art and technology network in: Ai & Society 37 2022 pp. 1071-1084.<br /> <br /> Despite this specifically technical paradigm Glusberg addressed an extraordinarily broad spectrum of contemporary positions and genres of contemporary art at the time different systems. These included artists from Conceptual Art Arte Povera Concrete Art and Poetry Op Art Land Art Fluxus Mail Art Cybernetic Art Installation Art Process Art etc. System aesthetics" endeavored to unite the widest possible spectrum. "Arte de Sistemas" was the attempt to realize and depict an understanding of interacting systems in a context. The systems theorist and artist Jack Burnham whose texts in the magazine "Artforum" played a decisive role in shaping the concept of systems aesthetics had a formative theoretical influence on this. One of his theories was that art functions as a kind of "information processing device" that mediates between natural phenomena and cultural phenomena. The exhibition was shown at the Museo de Arte Moderno in Buenos Aires which opened to the public in 1960. Er wuchs in Stuttgart in einem großbürgerlichen Milieu auf. Er besuchte das Realgymnasium und die Kunstgewerbeschule, an der sein Vater als Professor und Ornamentenlehrer wirkte. Seine weitere Ausbildung erhielt er am Polytechnikum bei Adolf Treidler, ab 1891 an der Stuttgarter Akademie. Seine Lehrer dort waren Claudius Schraudolph und Gustav Igler. Er unternahm wiederholt Studienreisen, zum Teil zusammen mit seinem Vater, zum Teil alleine, etwa 1892 ins Donautal, 1894 nach Bozen und Venedig, 1894/1895 nach Salzburg. Einige Jahre lebte Goll mit der Familie seiner Schwester, die mit dem Dekorationsmaler Ernst Fuchs verheiratet war, im elterlichen Haus am Wilhelmsplatz in Stuttgart und unterstützte seinen Schwager in dessen Atelier. Ab 1896 oder 1897 war er mit Anna Gauß liiert. 1898 und 1900 kamen die ersten Kinder zur Welt. Im Dezember 1900 heirateten Karl Goll und Anna Gauß. Der Verbindung entstammen insgesamt zehn Kinder, von denen vier Söhne und eine Tochter später selbst in Malerei und Kunstgewerbe tätig wurden. Ab 1902 war Goll auf Ausstellungen vertreten, unter anderem 1907 im Stuttgarter Museum der Bildenden Künste. Der Durchbruch als Künstler und eine nachhaltige Anerkennung blieben ihm jedoch versagt. 1903/1904 unternahm er eine Studienreise nach Leipzig. Nach seinem Umzug in die Stuttgarter Aspergstraße 1911 kam er in Kontakt mit der Bahai-Gemeinde, die ihn seither nachhaltig beeinflusste. Das Kunsthaus Schaller widmete Goll 1915 eine umfangreiche Sonderausstellung. Mit dem Tod seiner Frau 1918 fiel die Familie auseinander. Während die älteren Kinder selbständig wurden, wurden die jüngeren in die Familien von Freunden und Verwandten aufgenommen. Mit Unterstützung von Freunden konnte Goll nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg noch einmal eine Reise an den Bodensee unternehmen, wo vor allem Landschaftsskizzen und Zeichnungen entstanden. In den 1920er Jahren verzog er in die Seyfferstraße in Stuttgart-West und malte vor allem Auftragsarbeiten und Porträts. Unterstützt wurde er in dieser Zeit unter anderem durch den Kunstsammler Hugo Borst, der sich auch für die Gewährung eines Ehrensolds durch die Stadt Stuttgart einsetzte. 1934 widmete Schaller ihm eine zweite große Ausstellung. Die Zeit des Zweiten Weltkriegs verbrachte Goll bei einem seiner Söhne in Bregenz. Nach dem Krieg kehrte er nach Stuttgart zurück und starb in einem Pflegeheim in Stuttgart-Obertürkheim. They were founding members of several radical artistic groupings and in 1913 under the influence of Cubo-Futurism they invented Rayonism which pioneered the movement towards abstractionism in Russian art. On the invitation of Diaghilev they went to Paris in 1914 to work on costume and set design for the Ballets Russes. Like Bakst and Picasso who also designed for Diaghilev Goncharova and Larionov "transcended the frames of their studio paintings to use the theatre as a laboratory of material forms each applying different strategies but all united within what Larionov called a 'universe existing alongside the world of reality'." It opens with Goncharova's sets for the ballet Le coq d'or her 1914 debut with the Ballets Russes and continues with various costume and make-up designs 'Costume russe' 'Kikomora' etc. before ending with colourful pochoirs stencils including Larionov's cricket costume 'Le Grillon' for the ballet Histoires naturelles with music by Ravel: an outré example of why performers found Larionov's designs a challenge to wear.<br />Also included is Valentin Parnakh's essay discussing Larionov's theories about dance and theatre and singling out the artist as the initiator of new types of choreography including dances based on free movements types of gait animal movements mechanical dance and social dance related to work. Juli 1948 in Sherman, Connecticut, USA), besser bekannt unter dem Pseudonym Arshile Gorky, war ein aus dem heute zur Türkei gehörenden Westarmenien stammender Zeichner und Maler, der 1939 die amerikanische Staatsangehörigkeit annahm. Er war, obwohl er selbst sich der Gruppe der Surrealisten nicht zugehörig fühlte, der letzte in diese Gruppe aufgenommene Künstler. Sein Werk war wegbereitend für den Abstrakten Expressionismus.
