Smith, H. Clifford
Jewellery
410 pages. Bibliography. Extensive index. Profusely illustrated primarily with black and white and some colour plates. "With the exception of a chapter dealing with Egyptian jewellery, I have confined myself solely to Europe. The work falls into four main divisions. The first deals with the jewellery worn during classical times, and until the ninth century of our era. The second treats of the jewels of the Middle Ages. The third is devoted to the jewels of the Renaissance, and the fourth includes those of subsequent times." - from Preface. Rebound in sturdy red buckram library binding. Original backstrip and cloth from front board preserved. Usual library markings. Average wear. A sound copy of this excellent reference. Book
