This 3rd volume is a collection of essays concerning mechanics pneumatics hydrostatics navigation the techniques for establishing weights and measures and an examination of Aristarchus' heliocentric theory. As one of the most fascinating intellectual figures of the seventeenth century Mersenne is well known for his relationships with many outstanding contemporary scholars as well as for his friendship with Descartes.
