Corrard Pierre Modes et manières d'aujourd'hui Plaque de graveur 1913 "EXCEPTIONNEL ET SANS ÉQUIVALENT ! ""Modes et manières d'aujourd'hui"" est la publication du meilleur de la mode du début du XXe siècle, par les artistes l'ayant faite, au plus haut de leur art. Le projet est porté par Pierre Corrard, écrivain et éditeur de grand talent. Afin d'accompagner la révolution artistique et vestimentaire des années folles, il publie, en 1912, une première chemise, avec des illustrations de Georges Lepape. Devant l'accueil fait à cette première publication, il décide, chaque année, de proposer une chemise identique, avec des auteurs et des artistes différents. Pour la deuxième année, il demande à Nozière et à Charles Martin. Nous proposons ici certaines des plaques de zinc ayant servi à imprimer les compositions de Charles Martin pour la chemise de 1913. Ces 3 plaques ont permis de reproduire 5 des 12 gravures réalisées par Charles Martin (2 présentent deux illustrations, et 1 en présente une seule), à savoir : une plaque pour les planches II (La Neige) et XI (Les Cerises), une pour les planches VIII (Les Lucioles) et IX (La Passerelle), et enfin une pour la planche X (L'Orage). La provenance de cet ensemble est exceptionnelle : il provient directement de la famille Corrard. Nous joignons à ces planches, qui plus est, un bon de commande à l'entête de ""Modes et manières d'aujourd'hui"", vierge, ainsi qu'une carte à l'entête des ""Collections Pierre Corrard"", vierge également. /////// EXCEPTIONAL AND ONE OF A KIND ! “Modes et manières d’aujourd’hui” showcased the best of early twentieth century fashion through artists at the height of their talent. This project was led by Pierre Corrard, author and publisher of great renown. In 1912, in order to promote the revolution of arts and fashion of the Jazz Age, he published a first portfolio containing illustrations by Georges Lepape. Following the enthusiastic reception of this first issue, he decided to release each year an identical portfolio featuring different authors and artists. For the second year, he asked Nozière and Charles Martin. We offer for sale three of the zinc plates used for the reproduction of the works of Charles Martin for the 1913 issue. These 3 plates have been used for the reproduction of 5 of the 12 engravings by Charles Martin (two of them have two distinct illustrations, the third one has one illustration only): one zinc plate for illustrations: II (La Neige / Snow) and XI (Les Cerises / The Cherries), one plate for illustrations: VIII (Les Lucioles / The Fireflies) and IX (La Passerelle / The Walkway), and one plate for the illustration X (L’Orage / The Storm). The provenance of these plates is itself exceptional, as they came to us directly from the Corrard Family. We add to this ensemble an order slip bearing the header of “Modes et manières d’aujourd’hui”, as well as a card with the “Collections Pierre Corrard” header, both blank. In 1911 the French couturier Paul Poiret challenged Edward Steichen to create the first artistic rather than merely documentary fashion photographs a moment that is now considered to be a turning point in the history of fashion photography. Il nostro esemplare fa parte della tiratura speciale di 100 copie con una SERIGRAFIA ORIGINALE numerata e firmata. Germana Marucelli (Settignano 1905 - Milano 1983) è stata l’apripista della moda concettuale ed è considerata la “sarta” più intellettuale della moda italiana, in ideale sintonia con la contemporaneità. Convinta della «interdisciplinarietà tra moda e arte», riprese il filo di un’esperienza risalente alle avanguardie di inizio Novecento (praticata, tra gli altri, dal futurista F.T. Marinetti e dalla sarta Rosa Genoni) e, nel 1948, in collaborazione con il pittore e scenografo P. Zuffi, presentò una collezione ispirata al surrealismo; nel 1950, poi, fondò e finanziò il premio di poesia S. Babila che fu assegnato a S. La delimitazione geografica e cronologica di questo lavoro - i secoli XVII-XVIII in Italia - vuole cogliere il segmento temporale nel quale la "moda", il lusso e le leggi suntuarie sussumono un ruolo più specifico in un confronto non solo fra i sempre più autonomi stati nazionali, ma anche con mondi lontani solo da poco scoperti. L'abbigliamento è sempre esistito, in quanto risponde a un istinto primario, quello del coprirsi, e quindi del vestirsi, e con esso anche il lusso, come anche le leggi suntuarie che indicavano i limiti, soprattutto etici, del vestirsi. Ma è l'entrata "Mode", nella sezione arts dell'Encyclopédie che ne delinea il nuovo ruolo e l'ormai già avvenuto processo storico. La grande attenzione dedicata alle tematiche culturali e ai nuovi fenomeni di diffusione dell'abbigliamento al di fuori delle corti e dei palazzi ha insieme prodotto forme di repressione dell'ostentazione di abiti di lusso.
