Stewart Lee Allen
Nel giardino del diavolo. Storia lussuriosa dei cibi proibiti.
8vo; br., pp. 293, cm 12,5x19,5. .

Stiffoni Caterina; Berengo Gardin Gianni
Storie in cucina. Ricordi, racconti e ricette
ill., br.

STOBART Tom
The International Wine and Food Society's Guide to Herbs, Spices and Flavourings. Illustrations by Ian Garrard. [CBC edition]. BRIGHT, CLEAN COPY IN DUSTWRAPPER
4to., First Edition thus, with 8 coloured plates, very numerous monochrome illustrations (a number full-page) in the text and decorative endpapers; yellow cloth, gilt back, a very good, bright, clean copy in dustwrapper. First published in 1970, this is arguably the best of the single-volume compendia of herbs and spices. A well-known mountaineer and member of Hunt's 1953 Everest Expedition, Stobart later developed two other careers - as photographer and cookery writer. This volume was some twenty years in the making. Curiously elusive in this condition.

Greek Food and Drink Book
Tom Stone's Greek Food and Drink Book is a how-to guide to eating in Greece. If, when in Greece, you venture into most of the country beyond "international cuisine," this gently opinionated little book will explain the kinds of food, wonderfully different from anything non-Mediterranean, you will encounter. 148p. with pronunciation guides throughout the text, appendices on useful phrases, weights and measures, and the Greek festive calendar. The Summer of My Greek Taverna : A Memoir
The story of a man in love with a place, a woman, and a dream. Tom Stone went to Greece one summer to write a novel -- and stayed twenty-two years. On Patmos, he fell in love with Danielle, a beautiful French painter. His novel completed and sold, he decided to stay a little longer. Seven idyllic years later, they left Patmos for Crete. When a Patmian friend Theológos called and offered him a summer partnership in his beach tavérna, The Beautiful Helen, Stone jumped at the chance -- much to the dismay of his wife, who cautioned him not to forget the old adage about Greeks bearing gifts. Her warning was well-founded: when back on Patmos, Stone quickly discovered that he was no longer a friend or patron but a competitor. He learned hard lessons about the Greeks' skill at bargaining and business while reluctantly coming to the realization that Theológos's offer of a partnership was indeed a Trojan horse. Featuring Stone's recipes, including his own Chicken Retsina and the ultimate moussaka, The Summer of My Greek Tavérna is as much a love story as it is the grand, humorous, and sometimes bittersweet adventures of an American pursuing his dreams in a foreign land, a modern-day innocent abroad. 250p.Recipe index. Stout Rex
Crimini e ricette. A tavola con Nero Wolfe
ril.
