The 15th Packer novel there were 16 all Gold Medal PBOs published by this talented & prolific writer in a period of less than 10 years--during which she also wrote and edited as Ann Aldrich a pioneering series of Lesbian nonfiction titles all but one of them published by Gold Medal. At their best Packer's crime novels--dark tales of psychological terror in suburban & small-town settings--compare quite favorably with those of David Goodis for example or her one-time housemate Patricia Highsmith & deserve to be brought back into print. A number of them in fact were slated for publication in Barry Gifford's distinguished Black Lizard series before its sale to Vintage. Anthony Boucher called Packer "consistently the most sensitive & illuminating writer of paperback originals." No faint praise from a man who was an early champion of Jim Thompson's PBOs. This is the only book with the name Meaker for a character the author once said. Vin Packer is the pseudonym of Marijane Meaker. Cover art by Leo & Diane Dillon. When Maggie married him she knew that he was different. It was as though a part of him was kept hidden concealed warped. Première édition des oeuvres de Charles-François Pannard, ou Panard, (Courville-sur-Eure 1689 - Paris 1765), fécond littérateur, poète, chansonnier, dramaturge et goguettier, regardé comme l'un des propagateurs du vaudeville et de la chanson en France. Marmontel l'a surnommé le La Fontaine du Vaudeville. Pannard fut, comme le fabuliste, insouciant pour sa fortune ; il vécut et mourut pauvre. Le total de ses pièces s'élève à plus de 80, les plus connues sont : Le Tour de Carnaval, Les Acteurs déplacés, Les Fêtes sincères, Le Fleuve Scamandre, Zéphir et Fleurette (Firmin Didot Frères, Nouvelle biographie générale, 39, 125). Exemplaire aux armes de Anne-Léon II de Montmorency, marquis de Fosseux (ou Fosseuse), puis duc de Montmorency, fils unique d'Anne-Léon Ier, baron de Montmorency, lieutenant général, et d'Anne-Marie-Barbe de Ville, sa première femme, appelé d'abord le marquis de Fosseuse, naquit le 11 août 1731 ; d'abord menin du Dauphin et capitaine-lieutenant des gendarmes de la reine, en mai 1745, il fut fait chevalier de Saint-Louis, le 3 avril 1758, et promu brigadier de cavalerie en décembre 1761, et maréchal de camp en juin 1753.
