Illustrated wraps. 24 pp. plus a laid in 4 page piece for concerts unsure if part of this or not. 6 illustrations by Picasso present on three leave. OCLC has a number of records for this title with pagination varying among them although none matching this pagination. Appears complete but this cannot be stated for certain no evidence of removed pages. A program for performances given by the Ballet Russes and conducted by the noted Sergei Diaghilev. This program notable for the inclusion of line drawings by Pablo Picasso as well as a few color illustrations of costume/set designs by Juan Gris and Georges Braque. Many of these performances were choreographed by Nijinsky with contributions by artists such as Jean Cocteau Juan Gris and others as well as music composed by Stravinsky. The Ballet Russes was a traveling troupe considered one of the most influential due to its incorporation of modern art and music by Modernist artists and composers. GOOD condition. Minor to moderate foxing to the covers heaviest along the front cover edges. Minor soiling and a few stray creases. Minor foxing in the interior with color Picasso picture bearing faint brownish discoloration. M.A. Mangeot, presumed Publisher unknown

New York: Perls Gallery 1954. 8vo. Oblong 8 pp. Stapled Wraps Very Good. Illustrated. The Perls Gallery in New York was founded in 1937 by Klaus Gunther Perls 1912-2008 and his brother Franz R. Perls1910-1975 after having worked at their mother's Galerie Kate Perls in Paris. Following his marriage to Amelia Blumenthal of Philadelphia in 1940 Klaus and Amelia B. Perls jointly ran the gallery. They specialized in modern French painting while Franz established the Frank Perls Gallery in Beverly Hills. He originally dealt in works by Maurice Utrillo Maurice de Vlaminck and Raoul Dufy that his mother sent from Paris until the Nazi occupation. When she was forced to flee France he began dealing in now little known contemporary American artists including Darrel Austin and in Mexican and South American art such as Mario Carreno. After the war Klaus again dealt in French art from the School of Paris. Artists in the Perls' stable included Rouault Picasso L�ger Derain Dufy Matisse Modigliani Pascin Soutine and Vlaminck. Jacques Sarlie 1915 -1988 had one of the largest private collections of Picasso in the US having established a personal acquaintance with Picasso in France when he was stationed there in the US Army in WWII. Picasso was one of the few individuals to whom Picasso sold his work directly. In his Manhattan apartment had nearly two dozen Picassos plus important work by other French artists. This brochure was for a private showing at his home at 455 East 57th Street to benefit the Scholarship Fund of the Radclliffe College Fund of New York. One sheet folded vertically once printed cover and then photoset typed list of all the art in his home listed clockwise by rooms and hallways by artist titlle then date of the work. The brochure is undated but we assume it proiceeds a photo-article of his the collection in his resiudnece in Vogue March 1956. privately printed 0 unknown books
