This work is an interesting look at the history of Christian principles and the dogmas of faith. Christianity has a set of core beliefs that are shared by virtually all Christians. The author taught dogmatic and moral theology at the University of Bonn and so this work is instructional and educational. Originally written in German by Henri Klee. Klee was a German theologian and Biblical interpreter. He also published works on Catholic dogmas as well as 'Die Beicht' 'Commentar Uber den Romerbrief' and 'Enclcylopadie des Theologie'. Translated here into French by the Abbe PH Mabire. Bookplate to the front pastedowns belonging to a John Ponsonby. Condition: Rebacked with the original half calf with marbled paper boards laid on. Externally smart. Very light marking to the spines. Evidence of where the joints and extremities had been worn before being rebacked. Bookplates to the front pastedowns. Internally firmly bound. Doch so wie es sich mit der Zauberei und ihren Magiern verhält, bleiben auch ihre Geheimnisse unerklärbar, und die Wissenschaften gelangen bei der Interpretation, der Suche nach Aufdeckung, Entdeckung ihrer gestalterischen Phänomene schnell und immer wieder an ihre Grenzen. Bei dem Versuch, bestimmte Werke dieser beiden Künstler zu vergleichen, dürfen wir dies nicht vergessen, und wir sollten uns auch auf unser intuitives Sehen, Hören und Fühlen verlassen. Man kann nicht alles erklären und schon gar nicht bei den Künsten und noch viel weniger bei diesen beiden Magiern. Es versteht sich selbstredend, dass beide Oeuvres eigenständige Lebenswerke sind, die solitär ihre Plätze in der Kunstgeschichte eingenommen haben. Es gibt aber doch viele Kunstwerke, denen man unweigerlich nicht nur die gestalterische Nähe anmerkt, und um den Versuch einer genaueren Beleuchtung dieser Affinität geht es in unserer Ausstellung. Für die begleitenden Texte von Willy Athenstädt vom Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern, von Dieter Schwarz vom Kunstmuseum Winterthur und von Paolo Repetto von der Fondazione Melotti in Mailand sind wir besonders dankbar, denn sie bringen uns das Verständnis dieser sehr speziellen künstlerischen Werke viel näher, die uns jedes für sich facettenreich und geheimnisvoll entgegen treten und helfen, die Zusammenhänge besser zu verstehen. Getroffen haben sich diese zwei außergewöhnlichen Künstler nie; Fausto Melotti war zwar nur 22 Jahre jünger, und hatte Verbindung zu Klees Freund Kandinsky zum Beispiel. Melotti, 1901 im norditalienischen Rovereto geboren, studierte zuerst Maschinenbau und fing mit circa 25 Jahren an, sich mit der Kunst, im Speziellen der Bildhauerei, beruflich zu beschäftigen. 1929 beendete er seine Studien an der Accademia Brera in Mailand. Paul Klee starb 1940 im Alter von nur 61 Jahren. Es ist aber auch eher Melottis Werk nach 1960, das dem von Klee vor allem nahe steht. Trotzdem: schon eine Skulptur, wie die 1935 entstandene "Scultura n. 21" (Abb. 2) erinnert erstaunlich an künstlerische Ideen des Bauhauses, an dem wiederum Klee Meister war. Beide Künstler wuchsen in Elternhäusern auf, in denen die Musik eine wichtige Rolle einnahm und sogar beruflich ausgeübt wurde. Die Beleuchtung dieses Themas übernimmt Paolo Repetto, der selbst Musik studierte und Klees Kunst seit seiner Kindheit liebt, mit seinem Text "La luce dei suoni" ("Das Licht der Klänge").
