Sarebbe un grave errore considerare a poesia di Klee come una realt� subordinata e minore rispetto alla sua produzione figurativa. Nel periodo della sua formazione Klee esit� a lungo com'� noto tra musica pittura e poesia; e il fatto di avere infine scelto la pittura dando cos� inizio per necessit� per destino a quella che � forse la pi� alta e feconda esperienza artistica del Novecento non gli imped� mai di continuare a coltivare in modo �disinteressato� e quasi segreto la ricerca poetica. I versi di Klee non sono dunque il frutto di un'attivit� marginale ma realt� espressive autonome e per cos� dire omologhe rispetto a quelle create dalla sua fantasia figurativa. Non a caso non c'� assolutamente nulla in essi di pittorico o di pittoresco e nemmeno di descrittivo; e simile a quella del pittore � la cura rigorosa con la quale il poeta preserva i propri testi da qualsiasi impurit� di carattere autobiografico e contenutistico. Paesaggi interiori quindi; ma non soltanto. Come nella pittura anche nella poesia Klee tende a penetrare i meccanismi originari della genesi cosmica. Meccanismi formali inevitabilmente giacch� egli appare del tutto convinto dell'esistenza di una sigla strutturale elementare che presiede all'organizzazione dell'universo �viene alla fine a crearsi un cosmo formale�. Indipendentemente dal fatto che il processo sia affidato a un linguaggio verbale o iconico Klee tende all'individuazione e alla rappresentazione di codici archetipici. Ed � proprio a questa ricerca grandiosa e per definizione infinita che Klee probabilmente pens� quando scrisse di se stesso nei �Diari�: �Nel mondo terreno non mi si pu� afferrare poich� io abito altrettanto bene tra i morti come tra i non nati. Pi� vicino del consueto al cuore della creazione e ancora troppo poco vicino�. Abscondita unknown
