‎La Colombe, La Corbeille de fleurs, La rose de Tannenboug... Fabuliste et écrivain allemand, le chanoine Schmid (1768-1854), prêtre (1791), puis chanoine capitulaire à Augsbourg (1827), fut fortement influencé par les pédagogues Weisse (1726-1804) et Campe (1746-1818). Ses livres pour la jeunesseconnurent un succès européen. Son didactisme moral et religieux passe par des récits vivants, d'une grande variété, où se mêlent fantaisie, mystère et réalisme social.
