The recipient was a fine arts dealer in London who initially worked for the Fine Art Society and then joined Leicester Galleries where he promoted the work of popular book artists like Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac.</p><p><br /></p> books

Harrop & Co. 1931. 6 5-223pp 1 original full morocco by Sangorski and Sutcliffe spine in six panels title to second panel illustrator to third remaining panels with central fish device all in gilt. Covers with outer double fillet bordering roll and single fillet frame fish corner pieces joined by dotted roll and an inner single fillet frame gilt roll to edges and inner edges t.e.g. marbled endpapers probably Cockerell. Very minor rubbing to covers very small patches of blackening to edges otherwise bright and clean. Previous owners book plate to front pastedown Daniel Dougal. Frontispiece and eleven full page colour tissue guarded plates by Rackham. This copy being one of about twelve specially bound presentation copies with an original full page ink and watercolour sketch by Rackham opposite the limitation leaf this being copy number 3 showing 'Walton admiring the charms of the milkmaid'. Housed in a fleece lined cloth slipcase with some wear to extremities. Signed by Artist with Original Drawing. First Edition. Hardback. Very Good. Illus. by Rackham Arthur. 4to. Deluxe Edition.
