No apparent bleed through to the inside. This is a sale catalog for an auction held at Galerie 1900-2000, in Paris during October 19 to November 1, 1984. The auction contained paintings, sculptures, drawings, games, and other decorative arts works, all related to sports. Most of the lots are from the late 19th century through the 1920's. 467 lots in the sale. All illustrated in black & white, some color. Essay by Felix Marcilhac. br. A cinquant'anni di distanza dalla prima esposizione del gruppo Exhibition Design, Michele Galluzzo racconta i primi esperimenti del collettivo in Pre design 1969. Le ricerche sul laminato plastico del gruppo Exhibition Design. Composto da protagonisti della grafica italiana quali Giulio Confalonieri, Silvio Coppola, Franco Grignani, Bruno Munari e Pino Tovaglia, il gruppo ED si forma sul finire degli anni sessanta a Milano e in meno di un decennio dà vita a un'esperienza di estremo interesse, su cui finora si è indagato solo parzialmente. Mettendo in luce le peculiarità della proposta del gruppo, il saggio di Galluzzo si sofferma sul superamento del concetto di autorialità del singolo, la scelta dello spazio espositivo come strumento di dialogo con la comunità, la riflessione sulla metodologia progettuale e la ricerca in un'ottica interdisciplinare. Il testo è accompagnato dalle fotografie di Luciano Ferri e Ugo Mulas, recentemente acquisite dalla Galleria Corraini, che ricostruiscono i momenti preparatori e di ricerca precedenti all'esposizione, la documentazione still life degli esperimenti compiuti, fino all'inaugurazione della mostra Design ricerche plastiche nella cornice della Sala delle Cariatidi di Palazzo Reale nel settembre 1969, promossa dalle aziende Laminati Plastici / Formica e Bernini. Pre design 1969 offre così l'opportunità di riflettere sul ruolo della ricerca e della sperimentazione nel dialogo con le aziende e con la collettività, sulla responsabilità del designer nei confronti dell'utente finale, sull'utilizzo dello spazio espositivo come luogo di incontro e divulgazione, e sulla compenetrazione tra grafica e disegno industriale in un momento cruciale per le storia del design italiano. Il libro è pubblicato in occasione della mostra omonima in programma dal 9 aprile al 12 maggio presso la libreria Corraini in Piccolo, all'interno del Chiostro Nina Vinchi del Piccolo Teatro di Milano.

"Handmade in Italy", qui adottato con altro significato, è invece il nome di un progetto di ricerca scientifica dell'Università della Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli", assieme al progetto del Sistema Museale Regionale del Design e delle Arti Applicate, del 2002, sfociato poi nel progetto del 2010 realizzato a Pompei, il "Museo delle Imprese del prodotto di eccellenza Campano". L'intento implicito è quello di aggiungere la quinta "A", l'Artidesign, che è anche il titolo del volume di Filippo Alison e Renato De Fusco, alle altre quattro "A" del Made in Italy, una produzione sinergica, cioè, di design e artigianato che esca dal suo ruolo ancillare e romantico, che faccia ricorso, senza vecchi pregiudizi, alle tecnologie avanzate e alla digital fabrication, per rientrare a pieno titolo nel "fatto e pensato in Italia".
