Con oltre duemila edifici censiti e presentati in queste pagine, con schede, illustrazioni e dettagli tecnici che evidenziano la particolarità di ogni singolo manufatto, il volume rappresenta il primo repertorio coerente e articolato dell'architettura del Novecento in Veneto. Questo atlante, esito del progetto "Architettura delle città venete del Novecento" promosso dalla Regione del Veneto, compie così una vasta ricognizione delle architetture del XX secolo: dalle Dolomiti al Polesine, dal Garda alla laguna di Venezia, città e campagna, capoluoghi e province, attraverso una minuziosa schedatura di edifici e manufatti che appartengono a diverse epoche e tipologie di costruzione, case, ville, scuole, palazzi residenziali, edifici pubblici, quartieri, infrastrutture. Una iniziativa che promuove il recupero e la valorizzazione del patrimonio novecentesco, ma rende nel contempo accessibile ad un largo pubblico lo scenario regionale, nel dialogo con il contesto italiano ed europeo, ma anche nella vicinanza al dibattito sviluppato all'interno della Scuola di Architettura di Venezia (il futuro Iuav, che nasce nel 1926) e seguendo le tracce di nomi come quelli di Gio Ponti, Carlo Scarpa, Daniele Calabi, Giuseppe Samonà, Giuseppe Davanzo, Egle Trincanato, Franco Albini, Aldo Rossi, Giancarlo De Carlo, Edoardo Gellner, Gino Valle.
