Sir Leslie Ward 1851-1922 English caricaturist and portrait painter signed his works 'Spy.' Captain Sir Alfred Jephson 1841-1900 retired from the Royal Navy after serving in the Crimea and China. London: Vincent Brooks Day & Son Lith 1905. Good . 1 chromolithographed print 38 x 26 cm. signed "Spy" without the biographical text. Sir Leslie Ward 1851-1922 English caricaturist and portrait painter signed his works 'Spy.' General James Wolfe-Murray 1853-1919 served in the 4th Anglo-Ashanti War the 2nd Boer War and the 1st World War. He served as colonel commandant of the Royal Artillery from April 1917 and published two books on the Russian Army. In Good Condition: creasing in upper margin with 2 closed tears one touching the upper edge of the image; lacking tip of upper left-hand corner; minor soiling in lower left margin; otherwise clean and bright. <br/><br/> Vincent Brooks, Day & Son, Lith unknown

Utrecht: P.W. van de Weywer 1898. Near Fine -. 1 color print 39 x 26 cm. signed "Spy" with accompanying leaf of descriptive text. Sir Leslie Ward 1851-1922 English caricaturist and portrait painter signed his works 'Spy.' William Stephen Alexander Lockhart 1841-1900 was a British general who spent most of his career in India and Burma. In 1897 he had conducted the Tirah Expedition. Because Vincent Brooks Day & Son the lithographer usually employed by Vanity Fair suffered a fire in 1898 this is one of the prints in their popular series Men of the Day printed by P.W. van de Weyer in Utrecht Holland. They used the "colortype" offset printing method rather than the color lithography seen in many other Vanity Fair prints. In Near Fine- Condition: 1-cm. closed tear from left edge of print; minimal soiling in margins; clean and bright image and text. <br/><br/> P.W. van de Weywer unknown
