‎Précieux recueil de planches exécutées d’après les dessins d’Élisabeth-Sophie Chéron gravées au burin et à l'eau-forte par ses nièces Ursule et Jeanne Delacroix ainsi que Charles Simonneau, Bernard Picard, Jean Audran et Cochin le père ; « Mlle Chéron en a gravé elle-même quelques-uns » (Robert-Dumesnil, N°6-8). Il est constitué d’une suite de 37 planches non numérotées (sur 48) dont le portrait de Mlle Chéron en frontispice et 1 planche supplémentaire (la dernière de l'album) non signée. Ces estampes font partie du recueil qu’on trouve rarement complet des Pierres antiques gravées, tirées des principaux Cabinets de France (Paris, 1709). La suite complète rassemble 48 planches (voir l'exemplaire numérisé de la bibliothèque universitaire de Basse-Saxe à Göttingen).Pour cette galerie de portraits d'après médailles antiques et pierres gravées, Mlle Chéron mit à contribution le Cabinet du Roi, le Trésor de Saint-Denis, les collections de Bourdaloue, Crozat, Hesselin, Lautier, Masson et de l’abbé Benedetti.« Peintre et miniaturiste spécialisée dans la pratique du portrait, graveur, musicienne, poétesse et traductrice, Élisabeth-Sophie Chéron (1648-1711) suscite l’admiration de ses contemporains en raison de ses nombreux talents. Bénéficiant de la protection de Charles Le Brun, elle est la quatrième femme à être reçue au sein de l’Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture; elle a également l’honneur d’être admise dans l’Académie des Ricovrati à Padoue. Faisant preuve d’une curiosité intellectuelle inhabituelle pour une femme de son époque, elle expérimente des techniques diverses et passe pour une personnalité atypique dans le monde académique. ‎Beau recueil de planches lithographiées dû à Eugène Cicéri, dessinateur lithographe qui se spécialisa dans la représentation des paysages. Il participa aussi beaucoup aux Voyages pittoresques et romantiques dans l'ancienne France du baron Taylor. Les recueils de planches lithographiées de Cicéri sont nombreux et variables dans leurs compositions. Ils étaient vendus par divers libraires-éditeurs des stations thermales. Les planches sont simples, doubles et parfois sur quatre volets pour les panoramas. Cet exemplaire contient un titre général lithographié suivi de deux parties Luchon et ses environs et les Hautes et Basses-Pyrénées avec au total 59 vues lithographiées. La première partie se compose d'un feuillet de titre, 8 pages de texte, 2 cartes dépliantes pour Luchon et ses environs et le Plan de Bagnères de Luchon, et 26 planches dont 20 simples, 4 doubles et 2 panoramiques à 4 volets ; la seconde partie est composée d'un feuillet de titre, 8 pages de texte et 32 planches dont 24 simples et 8 doubles - cette partie contient une table au verso du titre dont la planche «Église de Saint-Savin» manque à notre exemplaire qui contient en revanche 3 vues supplémentaires non inscrites.
