Ware was a major presence in British and American cinema best known for his work on "Beat the Devil" 1953 "Room at the Top" 1959 "Our Man in Havana" 1959 "Charade" 1963 and "The Spy Who Came in from the Cold" 1965. <br/><br/>Based on the novel of the same name also by James Barlow Graham Weir is an alcoholic schoolteacher who can not advance in his career due to his refusal to fight in the Second World War. He is working at a school where the teens do not like to be there and he is having a fallout with his wife all while a young student begins to have a crush on him leading to him catching a false sexual molestation charge. <br/><br/>Set in London shot on location in Ireland. <br/><br/>Blue titled wrappers. This is an early draft developed at Vanguard Films prior to the property being sold to Warner Brothers. <br/><br/>An American remake of the 1935 British film of the same name. Largely set in Italy the story concerns the relationship between poverty-stricken musician Sebastian Dunbrok Errol Flynn and unwed mother Gemma Smith Ida Lupino. Suspecting that her fiance Caryl Gig Young Sebastian's brother is the father of Gemma's child young heiress Fennella McLean Eleanor Parker retreats to the Italian Alps. Attempting to straighten out the situation Sebastian finds himself falling in love with Fennella. For his brother's sake Sebastian breaks off the relationship and marries Gemma but while awaiting the birth of her child he writes a heartfelt ballet score dedicated to Fennella. However when Gemma's baby dies the conscience-stricken Sebastian changes the dedication to his wife whom he has learned to genuinely love. Los Angeles: Selznick International 1942. Second Draft treatment script for an unproduced film "Two Against Tomorrow" with alternate titles "The Big Parade of 1942" "No Time for Tears" "12 Stolen Hours" and "Lover Come Back" also written on the front wrapper. One of a number of original scripts written by noted screenwriter and novelist Viertel for producer David O. Selznick in the early 1940s. We know of one earlier draft of the treatment dated simply "June 1942." This draft has added blue revision pages a distribution page and a date of June 18 1942. <br/><br/>Viertel's script went fairly far into the pre-production process. According to a New York Times article on August 19 1942 MGM purchased the property from Viertel who at the time was in the Marine Corps but more likely it was purchased from Selznick as this script dated June 1942 is clearly noted as a Selznick property. The article goes on to note that the picture was assigned MGM to producer Edgar Selwyn. <br/><br/>A story set in Manila told from the perspective of a woman working at a Filipino rubber factory during the first raids by the Japanese. With alternate titles likely suggested by Viertel proposed on the title page: "The Big Parade of 1942" "No Time for Tears" "12 Stolen Hours" and "Lover Come Back."<br/><br/>Pale blue titled wrappers dated June 18th 1942 with credits for Peter Viertel. Distribution page present with receipt intact rubber stamped copy number as called for. Willis Davidge Quaid is a human fighter pilot who is stranded along with Jeriba Shigan Gossett on a hostile planet. Jeriba is of a race of asexual aliens reptilian in appearance and is initially Willis' enemy. The two quickly realize that the key to survival is by helping one another. Set in the year 2100.
