The protagonist Charlie played by John Heard falls in love with the newly-separated Laura played by Mary Beth Hurt who then returns to her husband while Charlie simultaneously attempts to deal with the various members of his family. Charlie cannot seem to let go of his obsession and begins to stalk Laura in an attempt to win her back. Shot on location in Salt Lake City Utah. Released in 1979 as "Head Over Heels" as seen here it was re-released in 1982 and given a markedly more downbeat ending to a better audience reception.
