Erasmus Alberus, humaniste, réformateur et poète allemand, fut un assistant fort actif de Martin Luther qui signe ici la préface (en latin et en français). Alberus rédige une satire en prose du Liber confermitatum du franciscain Bartolommeo Albizzi de Pise dans lequel l'ordre franciscain est tourné en ridicule.
