An excellent clean and fresh copy with only very minor occasional browning. 16 654 82 pp. � Scarce editio princeps of Thomas Aquinas' highly important commentary on the Apocalypse of John which at the time of Aquinas was considered perhaps the most important part of the Bible. <br><br>The Apocalypse of John constitutes the last book of the Bible and the only thoroughly apocalyptic text of the New Testament; it presents a vision of the end of time and of God's victory over evil and was - especially in the Middle Ages - an extremely popular part of the Bible which in itself inspired much medieval art. Thomas Aquinas being the most important and influential bible commentator of his time came to profoundly influence the way that the Bible - including the Apocalypse - was interpreted throughout the Middle Ages and well into the Renaissance. <br><br>Aquinas wrote many influential bible commentaries and his "On the Apocalypse of St. John" was of foundational character to his interpretation of The New Testament.
