Seven books containing the 14 volumes of letters published between 1912 and 1932; a 15th supplemental volume was issued in 1941 and is not present. Octavos in early half green cloth and marbled boards leather spine labels marbled page edges illustrated in b&w some with fold-outs all intact. Books are very good plus with minimal shelfwear to boards very light edge wear a few volumes have small abrasions to leather spine label see photos with bookplates on pastedowns. Volume I has a few pencil notes on front pastedown texts otherwise clean and unmarked no foxing bindings firm and tight. First 3 volumes are primarily in French latter 4 volumes primarily in Swedish with occasional English and French as fitting the correspondence. Berzelius was a prolific correspondent with leading scientists of his time such as Gerardus Johannes Mulder Claude Louis Berthollet Humphry Davy Friedrich Wöhler Eilhard Mitscherlich and Christian Friedrich Schönbein.
