ABRAHAM BOOTH 1734-1806 was an English dissenting minister and author known as a Baptist apologetical writer. Booth was born at Blackwell near Alfreton Derbyshire on 20 May 1734; while he was young the family moved to Annesley Woodhouse Nottinghamshire where his father had taken a small farm as a tenant of the Duke of Portland. The eldest of a large family Booth worked on the farm to age 15 with sporadic schooling. Then working on a stocking-frame he was able to support himself and get some further elementary education. He opened a school at Sutton-in-Ashfield Nottinghamshire. Baptist preachers interested Booth in religion and in 1755 he was baptised by immersion and began to preach in the Midland counties. In 1760 when the Baptists first gathered into churches Booth became superintendent of the Kirkby Woodhouse congregation but not their pastor. He changed views from General Baptist to Particular Baptist and seceded. Soon after he began to preach on Sundays at Sutton-in-Ashfield Chesterfield and elsewhere in the Midland towns and villages still keeping his school. SCARCE. Will be well-packed for posting/shipping. An obscure religious work by the Dutch Protestant jurist Abraham Boreel 1605-1664. The main title roughly translates as: Sacred missions; or the mutual union of Christians to be gleaned promoted and fraternally maintained among those who pursue peace and charity. The second part of the work is a commentary on the conversion of Jews to Christianity. Boreel was born into a noble family in Middleburg. His older brother jurist and diplomat Sir Willem Boreel 1st Baronet 1591-1668 was an important early figure in the Dutch East India Company who was knighted by James I of England. unknown‎

‎1907. Photograph signed and dated "Gutzon Borglum 1907." The photograph taken by Borglum shows his marble bust of Abraham Lincoln. On February 6 1908 the President's son Robert Todd Lincoln wrote to Borglum regarding the bust as "the most extraordinarily good portrait of my father I have ever seen." The sculpture is on display in the Crypt of the U.S. Capitol Building. A typed Lincoln quotation pasted to mount at lower left. In very good condition. Double matted and framed. The entire piece measures 15 inches by 17.5 inches. Sculptor Gutzon Borglum designed and oversaw the execution of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial from 1927 to 1941 with the assistance of his son Lincoln Borglum. Conceived by South Dakota historian Diane Robinson the 60-foot sculpture was initially intended to promote tourism in the Black Hills Region of South Dakota. unknown‎

He was a Hasidic rabbi known as the "Tzadik of Sochachov" or 'Cadyk z Sochaczewa' in Polish. He the son of a rabbi. When he graduated yeshiva became a rabbi in Parczew Kroniewice Nasielsk and from 1883 in Sochaczew. He founded there Hassidic synagogues and yeshivas. He is buried in the Jewish cemetery in Sochaczew where a "ohel" burial vault was built.
