Light scuffing to spine and extremities yet still an excellent copy joints and hinges intact contents clean and bright. First collected edition of these three materialist texts. The first Parité de la Vie & de la Mort by Abraham Gaultier was first published in 1714 this being the second edition. Gaultier like Bernard Mandeville and La Mettrie was a physician turned philosopher; in the present treatise he offers an entirely materialist vision of the body and soul so intertwined that they cannot be distinguished. The second and third texts are both generally attributed to Baron d'Holbach and are both here published for the first time. Offering materialist views of the souls and the universe the author argues for the eternity of matter the absence of innate ideas and no objective good or evil.
