In 8° (22,1x14,3 cm); X, 351, (1) pp. Bellissima e pregiata legatura coeva in mezza pergamena rigida con titolo e la scritta volume unico impressi in oro al dorso su fascette rossa e verde. Altri ricchi ed elaborati fregi impressi in oro al dorso. Piatti foderati con carta marmorizzata coeva. Quest’opera doveva essere il primo volume di una collana ma risultò poi come l’unico stampato e rappresenta un’importante fonte per la storia del Vaticano, della Polonia e della Svezia ricostruendo le relazioni diplomatiche che intercorsero fra questi stati nel periodo storico compreso fra ii 1523 anno di insediamento al potere di Giovanni III ed il 1611 anno della morte di Carlo IX di Svezia. I tre regnanti, tutti appartenete alla nobile famiglia dei Vasa, furono anche i primi re di Polonia. Sigismondo III Vasa, in polacco Zygmunt III Waza, in svedese Sigismund III Vasa, in latino Sigismundus Tertius Dei gratia rex Poloniæ, magnus dux Lithuaniæ, Russiæ, Prussiæ, Masoviæ, Samogitiæ, Livoniæque, necnon Suecorum, Gothorum Vandalorumque hæreditarius rex (Castello di Gripsholm, 20 giugno 1566 – Varsavia, 30 aprile 1632), fu re di Svezia dal 1592 al 1599 e di Polonia dal 1587 al 1632. Appartenente alla reale famiglia Vasa di Svezia, era figlio di Giovanni III e della principessa di Polonia Caterina Jagellona, sorella di Sigismondo Augusto. Eletto al trono della Confederazione polacco-lituana, Sigismondo era intenzionato a creare un'unione personale tra la sua confederazioen e la Svezia (Unione polacco-svedese), riuscendoci nel 1592. Dopo essere stato deposto dal trono svedese nel 1599 da suo zio eletto sovrano col nome di Carlo IX di Svezia, egli trascorse il resto della sua vita nel tentativo di reclamarlo mentre lo zio passò buona parte della sua vita nel fortificare i confini e nell’imbastire una fitta rete di rapporti diplomatici per scongiurare il ritorno del nipote. Opera assai rara in questa prima edizione italiana, sei soli esemplari censiti in ICCU, in bellissima legatura coeva ed in perfetta condizioni di conservazione.

br. Il Vaticano II è stato innanzitutto un modo nuovo da parte della Chiesa di rapportarsi al mondo contemporaneo. Il volume vuole ripercorrere i tragitti che hanno preparato questa nuova coscienza, e i frutti raggiunti nel Vaticano II. Tre sono gli interventi presenti nel volume. M. Tosti ha ricostruito alcuni passaggi della travagliata storia del XIX secolo e della metà del successivo, puntando l'attenzione sui processi di sospetto e avversione che, a partire dalla rivoluzione francese, determinarono le relazioni tra la Chiesa e il mondo moderno. Il secondo intervento, di P. Maranesi, invece ha voluto analizzare la "svolta" del Vaticano II, tentando un confronto più attento e puntuale riguardo le novità testuali emerse nell'autocoscienza della Chiesa nei lavori conciliari. Il terzo approfondimento è di S. Segoloni, che ha tentato di individuare i processi di recezione da parte della Chiesa postconciliare delle proposte nate dal concilio.

In folio (31,5×22 cm); (54), 563, (250) pp. Bellissima legatura coeva in piena pergamena rigida con dorso a 5 nervi e titolo manoscritto da mano coeva ad un tassello. Esemplare che presenta alcuni quaderni con leggera ed uniforme brunitura dovuta alla qualità della carta. Un leggerissimo alone in una trentina di carte al centro del volume, ininfluente e nel complesso esemplare in buone-ottime condizioni di conservazione. Testatine e finalini xilografici. Bellissima incisone realizzata da Giuseppe Testana al frontespizio con le armi di Pietro Ottoboni, il futuro Papa Alessandro VIII, nato Pietro Vito Ottoboni (in latino: Alexander PP. VIII; Venezia, 22 aprile 1610 - Roma, 1º febbraio 1691), che fu il 241º papa della Chiesa cattolica dal 1689 alla sua morte. Ottoboni fu nominato nel 1643 da Urbano VIII, uditore della Sacra Rota. "Nel quotidiano esercizio di questo ufficio, tenuto per circa dieci anni, l'Ottoboni rivelò un'autentica vocazione giuridica (le sue consulte, meritatamente famose, vennero raccolte e pubblicate: Decisiones Sacrae Rotae Romanae coram R.P.D. Petro Otthobono…, Romae 1657), maturando una larga e approfondita esperienza canonistica che restò poi sempre, sostanzialmente, a fondamento di tutta la sua attività di Curia e della stessa sua concezione della Chiesa, intesa, prima che come realtà spirituale, come organismo giuridico saldamente impiantato in un corpo di dottrine e di diritti da custodire e difendere inflessibilmente nella sua integrità. L'attività svolta alla Rota e i frequenti contatti con le Congregazioni romane e i vari ambienti di Curia gli valsero il 19 febbr. 1652 la nomina a cardinale e, due anni dopo, il 7 dic. 1654, a vescovo di Brescia. A Brescia l'Ottoboni restò dieci anni, reggendo la diocesi con impegno.". L'opera raccoglie le decisioni della Sacra Rota durante la reggenza di Ottoboni con descrizione delle cause pratiche presentate al tribunale e delle conseguenti decisioni inerenti per la maggior parte al diritto civile dello stato pontificio come casi di fedecommessi, iurispatronatus, indulti, gabellae, officii notariatus, restitutuonis dotae, statuto rum, sequestri, territorii ecc. ecc. . Il volume contiene due utilissimi indici uno per città alla quale si riferisce la decisione e l'altro per materia trattata. Fra le città: Ancona, Acerra, Ascoli, Avellino, Avignone, Bagnoregio, Benevento, Bologna. Pamplona, Camerino, Cervia, Compostela, Crotone, Fano, Fermo, Lodi, Macerata, Malta (9 cause), Monfalcone, Napoli, Pisa, Posnan, Roma, Ravenna, Savona, Sorana, Spoleto, Squillaci, Taranto, Terracina, Vercelli, Viterbo, Urbino ecc. ecc. Opera non comune, in bella legatura coeva ed in buone-ottime condizioni di conservazione.
