Composant près de 80% des Juifs argentins, la communauté ashkénaze est la plus connue et celle dont l'immigration a été la plus étudiée. Dans le présent ouvrage l'attention est mise sur les Judéo-espagnols d'Orient en tant que groupe à part entière qui mérite une étude dédiée et approfondie. Notre travail commence en 1876 avec l'arrivée des premiers Juifs non-Ashkénazes en Argentine, les Marocains, à une période importante dans la jeune république où les portes sont grandes ouvertes pour accueillir les immigrants.
