Verlagseinband in rotem Leinen mit Rücken- und Deckeltitel. *Der Verfasser sammelte die Märchen der Suaheli direkt vor Ort, wovon hier 18 in suahelischer Sprache enthalten sind (die Fußnoten mit einigen Wortübersetzungen). "Die Schwierigkeiten, die sich mir bei dem mißtrauischen Charakter des Negers entgegenstellten, waren also größer als ich gedacht hatte".
