‎* Jovan Vukotic (Nik?ic, 22. februar 1907 ? Beograd, 25. januar 1982) bio je ucesnik Narodnooslobodilacke borbe, magistar istorijskih nauka, general-pukovnik JNA i narodni heroj Jugoslavije. Biografija: Roden je 22. februara 1907. godine u Nik?icu. Osnovnu ?kolu i sedam razreda gimnazije je zavr?io u rodnom gradu, a potom je pre?ao na Vojnu akademiju u Beograd. Godine 1928. je zavr?io Vojnu akademiju, a potom je zavr?io Pe?adijsku oficirsku ?kolu u Sarajevu, 1932. godine i Radio-telegrafsko-tehnicki kurs u Zemunu, 1934. godine. Kao oficir Jugoslovenske vojske, nalazio se na du?nostima komandira voda, komandira streljacke cete i komandira Cete pratecih oruda u Mostaru, kao i pomocnik odeljenskog stare?ine na Vojnoj akademiji u Beogradu. U Jugoslovenskoj vojsci je imao cin kapetana prve klase. Aprilski rat 1941. zatekao ga je na slu?bi u ?tabu Primorske armijske oblasti u Mostaru. Posle kapitulacije Jugoslovenske vojske, 17. aprila izbegao je zarobljavanje i vratio se u Nik?ic. U rodnom gradu se preko prijatelja i poznanika, povezao sa organizatorima oru?anog ustanka i aktivno se ukljucio u rad. Ucestvovao je u prikupljanju materijala i vojne tehnike, radio na skupljanju podataka o jacini, sastavu i rasporedu okupacionih snaga na teritoriji Nik?ickog sreza i okoline, suprotstavljao se anga?ovanju biv?eg oficirskog kadra u slu?bu italijanskog okupatora i dr. Od prvog dana bio je ucesnik Trinaestojulskog ustanka naroda Crne Gore i ucestvovao u borbama oko Nik?ica, Ostroga, na ?irovnici i drugim mestima. Bio je najpre komandir topovskog odeljenja, potom komandir cete i zatim zamenik komandanta bataljona u Nik?ickom partizanskom odredu. Posle povlacenja partizanskih snaga iz Crne Gore, pocetkom 1942. godine, dolazi do njegovog punog vojnog anga?ovanja ? postavljen je najpre za vojnog instruktora, a potom se nalazio na du?nostima: nacelnika ?taba Pete proleterske crnogorske udarne brigade, nacelnika ?taba Druge proleterske divizije, nacelnika ?taba Petog bosanskog korpusa i na kraju avgusta 1944. godine komandanta Korpusa narodne odbrane Jugoslavije (KNOJ). Svoje vojne ve?tine, narocito je iskazao u rukovodenju grupom bataljona Pete crnogorske i Desete hercegovacke brigade u borbama na Vla?icu, u rukovodenju forsiranja Drine i Tare u toku Cetvrte neprijateljske ofanzive pocetkom 1943. godine, u proboju obruca na Sutjesci, na liniji Vrbnica?Stru?insko brdo, kao komandant kolone sastava tri brigade, i u planiranju i organizaciji napada prilikom prvog oslobodenja Tuzle, 2. oktobra 1943. godine. Kada su maja 1943. godine uvedeni cinovi u NOVJ, unapreden je u cin pukovnika, a naredbom Vrhovnog ?taba NOV i POJ je 1. novembra 1943. godine za ?pokazanu ume?nost u rukovodenju i osvedocenu hrabrost? unapreden je u cin general-majora. U clanstvo Komunisticke partije Jugoslavije (KPJ) primljen je 1942. godine. Posleratni period: Maja 1945. godine istakao se u rukovodenju operacijom uni?tenja preostalih cetnickih snaga na Zelengori. Takode, Korpus je pod njegovom komandom, tokom 1945. i 1946. godine vodio mnoge borbe protiv mnogih odmetnickih bandi. Na du?nosti komandanta Korpusa narodne odbrane Jugoslavije nalazio se sve do septembra 1950. godine, kada je pre?ao na slu?bu u Jugoslovensku armiju. U JNA se nalazio na du?nostima nacelnika Pe?adijskog ?kolskog centra, predsednika Ispitne komisije za sticanje cina pukovnika rodova i slu?bi u JNA i nacelnika Vojnoistorijskog instituta JNA (VII). Godine 1952. zavr?io je Vi?u vojnu akademiju JNA u Beogradu, a 1965. treci stepen istorijskih nauka na Filozofskom fakultetu u Beogradu i stekao zvanje magistra. Godine 1962. je bio demobilisan u cinu general-pukovnika JNA. Bio je aktivan dru?tveno-politicki radnik u Op?tini Stari grad u Beogradu, gde je vi?e puta bio biran u organe Saveza komunista Jugoslavije (SKJ). Umro je 25. januara 1982. godine u Beogradu i sahranjen je u Aleji narodnih heroja na Novom groblju u Beogradu. (Quelle Wikipedia)‎
