From there on, battles and campaigns are described in great detail, very often with a reports on daily developments. It ends on November 1840 with the coronation of Willem II. Includes extended index and a chapter, a sketch of history in a nutshell. Extremely rare.

In a very good condition. ~ First edition. Prins' "De opleiding der compagnie" was published in 1888, also by Sijthoff of Leiden, and generated direct criticism, notably from Baron van Voorst tot Voorst and Sprokkelaar. Both Prins and his Publisher found it necessary to react directly: "Werd ons geschrift door sommigen met ingenomenheid begroet, het lokte van anderen een critiek uit, die ons in 't belang der zaak voorkomt, niet geheel onbeantwoord te moeten blijven." A few months later appeared the present Reply. It is interesting to note that the original publication comprised of 96 pages, while the Reply required no less than 39 pages to defend it. The Reply is divided in two practically equal halves with the first 19 pages directed at Van Voorst tot Voorst and the following 19 pages at Sprokkelaar. ~ Very rare. Only one copy is located in the Netherlands, that in the National War Museum. Another single copy is located worldwide, that in the British Library.

In a very good condition. ~ First Dutch edition thus, reprinted from the "Militairen Spectator". Freely translated from "Der Straßenkampf mit Barrikaden (.)", attributed to G. F. L. Leithold, which was published in 1849 (Berlin, Mittler). That the barricades will play the lead role in the defense against external enemies is the assumption on which the book elaborates. In doing so it chronicles numerous street battles and barricade wars throughout history, crowning Paris as "The Mother of Barricades War". The book analyses the campaigns in much detail, adds footnotes and completes with a bibliography. Five finely engraved street maps help to understand some specific battles. Rare.

Even the position and capacity of the elderly and the women were to be considered: could they contribute to the Land's defense in any way beside active fighting? Hoogenboom, First Lieutenant Artillery, was much concerned with the subject. His extended "Beschouwingen over Nederlands gewapende neutraliteit bij een oorlog tusschen andere Mogendheden" was published a few years later. Very rare.
