<p>Sentence - Revolt of the Tavern Keepers. Year 1757. 31 pages. In 1757 a bloody revolution took place in Porto which would become known as the Revolt of the Tavernkeepers instigated by the decision of the Marquis of Pombal to prohibit the sale of loose wine. The riot ended up causing hundreds of injuries and dozens of death sentences. Very rare. The investigation registered a total of 462 suspects 26 of whom 21 men and five women would be sentenced to death. Important historical suit. Original print with watermarks. <p>Sermão dos Bons Anos também conhecido por "Sermão da Circuncisão" um dos mais populares e frequentemente reimpressos de todas as obras de Vieira. Há pelo menos três edições ou números com a marca Lisboa: Na Officina de Lourenço de Anveres 1642 pelo menos duas datadas de 1645 impressas na Officina de Domingos Lopes Rosa pelo menos dois com o cunho Coimbra: Na Officina de Thome de Carvalho 1658 e uma de 1671 no mesmo estabelecimento gráfico. Thome de Carvalho era à época o impressor oficial da Universidade de Coimbra. Essa edição é a última edição em vida revista pelo próprio Vieira em 1671. Apresenta marca d´água do editor.</p><p>Sermon of Good Years also known as "Sermon of Circumcision" one of the most popular and frequently reprinted of all Vieira's works. There are at least three editions or issues with the Lisbon stamp: Na Officina de Lourenço de Anveres 1642 at least two dated 1645 printed at Officina de Domingos Lopes Rosa at least two with the Coimbra stamp: Na Officina de Thome de Carvalho 1658 and one from 1671 at the same printing establishment. Thome de Carvalho was at the time the official printer of the University of Coimbra. This edition is the last edition revised by Vieira himself during his lifetime in 1671. It has the publisher's watermark.</p>
