("Walther Sulzbach in dankbarer, herzlicher Freundschaft vom A(?)..bis dort hinaus - Baldor Olden Berlin, Dez 27"). Die Tinte etwas verlaufen, der Leineneinband verschmutzt; das geprägte `N` im Autorennamen abgerieben. Das Exemplar stammt aus der Bibliothek eines Autographensammlers. Auszüge aus Wikipedia: "1914 befand sich Sulzbach auf einer Studienreise durch Südafrika und wurde dort bei Ausbruch des Ersten Weltkriegs von den britischen Truppen gefangen genommen und bis 1920 interniert. Nach seiner Rückkehr aus der Internierung habilitierte er sich 1921 an der Frankfurter Goethe-Universität mit seiner Schrift Die Grundlagen der politischen Parteibildung in Soziologie. Anschließend lehrte er als Privatdozent, trat aber 1922 auch als Teilhaber in das Bankhaus Gebrüder Sulzbach ein. 1930 wurde Sulzbach nichtbeamteter ao. Professor. 1933 wurde Sulzbach nach § 3 des Gesetzes zur Wiederherstellung des Berufsbeamtentums die Lehrbefugnis entzogen. Unberührt davon blieb bis 1937 seine Teilhaberschaft an der Bank. 1937 wurde das Bankhaus arisiert, konnte aber von Heinrich Kirchholtes, dem nichtjüdischen Schwager Sulzbachs, fortgeführt werden. Kirchholtes gelang es auch, Sulzbach eine angemessene Vergütung für seinen Anteil an der Bank zukommen lassen. Ebenfalls 1937 emigrierte Sulzbach in die USA. Von 1937 bis 1945 war Sulzbach Professor für Soziologie an den Claremont Colleges[4] in Kalifornien. 1944 hatte er die US-amerikanische Staatsbürgerschaft angenommen, und nach 1945 arbeitete er für verschiedene Forschungseinrichtungen und übte Regierungsaufgaben aus.[2] 1954 wurde Sulzbach von der Frankfurter Universität zum ordentlichen Professor emeritus ernannt. 1960 übersiedelte er in der Schweiz". - zu Olden:"Sofort nach der ?Machtergreifung? durch die Nationalsozialisten ging Olden nach Prag und von dort wurde er zwei Jahre später vertrieben. Am 3. November 1934 veröffentlichte der Deutsche Reichsanzeiger die dritte Ausbürgerungsliste des Deutschen Reichs, durch welche er ausgebürgert wurde.[1] Olden ging nach Frankreich und ließ sich in Paris nieder. Er arbeitete nach seiner Emigration als Literaturkritiker für die deutschsprachige Exilpresse (u. a. für Neue Deutsche Blätter und Neues Tage-Buch) und war 1936 Mitunterzeichner des Aufrufs für die deutsche Volksfront.[2] In Paris wurde er im Sommer 1940 verhaftet und im Lager Audierne interniert. Mit Hilfe von Freunden gelang es ihm, im Winter 1940/41 zu fliehen und sich nach Marseille abzusetzen. Von dort konnte er dann im Frühjahr 1941 auf einem Schiff nach Argentinien entkommen. Nachdem er fast zwei Jahre in der Hauptstadt Buenos Aires gelebt hatte, ließ er sich 1943 in der Hauptstadt von Uruguay, Montevideo, nieder. Dort heiratete Olden 1944 Margarete Kershaw. Seine letzten Lebensjahre verbrachte Olden wieder in seinem Beruf als Journalist. In beiden Ländern setzte sich Olden sehr für die Belange deutscher Exilanten ein und war maßgeblich an deren Organisation beteiligt." [2 Warenabbildungen]
