I preached in St. Johns College Hospital Chapel & there visited some of the wards. In the evening we had preaching in the U.S.C.C. Chapel Tent which is my headquarters at College Green Barracks.Annapolis is or course a secesh town. The churches were nearly broken up by the war but now begin to look more flourishing. There is a large Episcopal Ch. here pastor of wh. is a Chaplain in hospital & a very nice sort of fellow."<br /> <br /> An unusually descriptive letter from a young man stationed at Annapolis and serving as a chaplain at the College Green Hospital Chapel. The limited edition of Vandiver's classic biography of Stonewall Jackson is one volume in the Easton Press "Leather-Bound Library of The Civil War" series. Beautifully bound in 22 kt. gilt- decorated dark blue leather and lighter blue accents with raised bands on spine; all-edges gilt; silk moire endpapers; frontispiece in color. Laid in is a sheet of the Collector's Notes. The book is in very good condition: clean tight and bright with a small scratch in the gilding on top edge of textblock which has left a tiny nick on the top edges of 3 pages; one small rubbed spot on gilding of bottom edge of textblock.
