Rapport fait au nom du Comité de Salut Public, sur l'héroïsme des républicains montant le vaisseau le 'Vengeur'. Dans la séance du 21 Messidor, l'an 2e de la République française.

Édition à la date de l'originale de ce rapport sur l'un des hauts faits d'armes de la marine révolutionnaire: trente milles à l'ouest d'Ouessant, un convoi de blé en provenance des Etats-Unis avait été attaqué par des vaisseaux anglais commandés par l'amiral Howe. Une escadre française dépêchée à sa rescousse réussit à les faire fuir malgré de lourdes pertes dont celle du vaisseau "Le Vengeur" disparu en mer le 1er juin 1794. L'exposé héroïque de Barère contribua à forger la légende. Suivi du décret de commémoration qui prescrit que "la forme du vaisseau 'le Vengeur' sera suspendue à la voûte du Panthéon…". (Martin & Walter, I, 1663). Petit cachet ex-libris. Bon exemplaire, sans couverture.

2 ouvrages reliés en un volume in-8, demi-veau bleu de l'époque, dos lisse orné de compartiments à froid, roulettes, petit fleuron et titres dorés. 1- Première édition des Mémoires de Jean de Coligny-Saligny (1617-1686). Gloire de la maison de Coligny, il suivit la fortune du prince de Condé et prit part à sa révolte. Il devint, par la suite, son ennemi irréconciliable et fit la paix avec la cour. Envoyé comme lieutenant général en Hongrie au secours de l'empereur contre les Turcs, il contribua puissamment à la victoire de Saint-Gothard en 1664. 2- Première édition des Mémoires de Philippe le Valois, marquis de Villette (1632-1707). Précédés d'une "Notice historique sur le Marquis de Villette" par L.-J.-N. de Monmerqué, d'un "Mémoire sur la marine de France" par M. de Valincourt, d'un "Mémoire au Roy sur la marine de France" par le comte de Toulouse, et suivi, outre les pièces justificatives, de "Lettres du Marquis de Villette à MM. de Pontchartrain". Les intérêts de l'Angleterre, mal entendus dans la guerre présente. Traduits du livre anglois, intitulé 'Englands interest mistaken in the present War'.
In-12, plein veau moucheté de l'époque, dos à nerfs orné de compartiments dorés, pièce de titre de maroquin rouge, tranches mouchetées (coiffe inf. et un coin usés, qqs épid.), (10), 274, (2) p., vignette de titre à la Sphère. "Nouvelle édition, revue & corrigée", parue un an après l'originale de cet ouvrage présenté comme une traduction de l’anglais, mais en fait œuvre en propre de l’abbé J.-B. Dubos L'auteur exhorte Angleterre à rester en dehors de la guerre de succession d'Espagne, à développer sa marine et à favoriser ses échanges commerciaux. Il analyse en détail les routes et marchandises échangées entre l’Angleterre et le reste du monde (Espagne et Portugal, Amérique, Guinée, France et Pays-Bas, Allemagne et Hollande, Méditerranée, etc.) en appuyant son analyse sur des statistiques chiffrées. L’ouvrage est célèbre pour prophétiser que les colonies britanniques d’Amérique se révolteraient un jour contre leur maître et acquérir leur indépendance. Historien, diplomate et habile négociateur, Dubos prit une part importante aux négociations de plusieurs traités de la période. Cet ouvrage, probablement de commande, a été réalisé sur ordre du gouvernement français qui avait fourni des renseignements alors inédits. (Einaudi, 1626. Goldsmiths, 'Online Catalog', 4038. Mémoire sur un nouveau passage de la mer du Nord à la mer du Sud.
In-8, cartonnage marbré à la Bradel, pièce de titre de maroquin bordeaux (rel. moderne Laurenchet), (4), 70 p. Edition originale. "Projet visionnaire comprenant deux mémoires de Martin de La Bastide, publiés après les démarches infructueuses de sa part auprès de la cour d'Espagne en 1780 pour la réalisation d'un canal à travers l'isthme de Panama ou de Darien. La Bastide plaide en faveur des énormes avantages que 'l'Europe commerçante' pourrait tirer de l'ouverture d'un passage entre les deux mers, et fait un exposé méthodique du tracé géographique pour la jonction des mers, des moyens à employer pour y parvenir. Il analyse l'utilité pour le commerce des colonies espagnoles et pour 'le commerce universel'. A la fin du premier mémoire, La Bastide transcrit une note de Laborde dans laquelle ce dernier lui reconnaît la priorité sur ce projet. Le second mémoire s'intitule: 'Réflexions sur les rapports de la communication de la mer du Nord à la mer du sud, par le lac de Nicaragua, avec l'établissement permis aux anglois par leur dernier traité avec l'Espagne'. Ce traité donnait aux anglais la liberté de s'établir et de naviguer depuis la baie de Nootka jusqu'au cap Mendocino" (Vente Zoummeroff, n°95). (France Littéraire, IV. 324. Polak, 4909. REVOLUTION FRANÇAISE - FEMINISME - Dames de la noblesse de Bretagne
Les Concitoyennes, ou Arrêté des dames composant l'ordre de la vraie noblesse de Brest en Bretagne du samedi 24 janvier 1789. Suivi de la vision qui n'en sera pas une.
In-8, broché sous cordelette de soie verte, 15 p., (1) p. bl., entièrement non rogné, tel que paru. Edition originale et unique. Appel des femmes de la noblesse bretonne à ne pas se compromettre avec celles du Tiers États: "avec aucunes femmes, filles ou parentes [sic] de ces gens déshonorés, & les déclarer infâmes, traîtres à la Patrie indignes du nom de vrais citoyens" (p. 4-5) et à les menacer de sanctions ainsi que ceux qui leur prêteraient assistance. "Arrêté en l'Hôtel de madame Dubosq, sur le champ de bataille, A Brest, le 24 janvier 1789", signé nommément par quarante-deux femmes issues de grandes familles de la marine brestoise, comme les trois sœurs de Kerouartz, mariées au commandant de la Marine de Brest – au comte de Soulanges et à De La Porte-Vezins. D’autres familles nobles d’officiers de marine apparaissent comme les De Langle, de Rosily, de Saint-Prix, de Trémigon. Quatre hommes sont aussi nommés comme adhérant à l’arrêté : Rhedon de Beaupréau, De Linoi, Le Provost et le Comte d’Hector, tous hauts gradés de la marine à Brest. "L'arrêté" est suivi (p. 7 à la fin) d'une sorte d'utopie politique: " vision qui n'en sera pas une" qui met en scène un "bon citoyen" transporté dans le palais du "Génie des nations" qui y réside sous la garde d'un Dieu jaloux veillant à l'éloigner de tout esprit d'innovation. Endormi depuis longtemps, le Dieu "n'avait été réveillé qu'au commencement de ce siècle par les cris d'une philosophie hardie..., ennemie des abus…". L’impression conjointe des deux textes, dont le second est favorable aux idées nouvelles, suggère que l'Arrêté des dames de Brest aurait été repris et détourné par le camp des patriotes. Deuxième édition (la première de 1777 aurait été détruite) de cette compilation en grande partie tirée de 'l'Histoire des deux Indes'. Elle contient de nombreuses contributions de Diderot. L'édition est attribuée à J.-B.-A. Hédouin. L'adresse de Genève, "Jean-Léonard" (allusion à Jean-Léonard Pellet) est fictive. Selon Barbier: "Cet ouvrage fut supprimé aussitôt qu'il parut et le libraire menacé de la Bastille s'il ne nommait l'auteur". (Courney, 'Bibliographie des éditions Raynal', L-04 1782:01. Elle est illustrée d'une vignette de titre aux armes royales de France et de Navarre et de nombreux et beaux ornements typographiques gravés sur bois: bandeaux, lettrines et culs de lampe. Bien complet des 16 pages de "Procès-verbal des coutumes générales du Baillage de Vitry en Pertois, dit le François", imprimées en petits caractères et interfoliées entre les pages 348 et 349, qui ne figurent qu'à un petit nombre d'exemplaires. Un chapitre: "Description et origine de la ville de Vitry" figure dans les feuillets préliminaires et de remarquables "Observations concernant la navigation" aux p. 353-372. NAVE ALICE - Nave scuola allievi R. Accademia Aeronautica. Album contenente 84 fotografie.
Album di cm. 24x34 contenente 84 belle fotografie di cui 83 di cm. 11,5x16,5 e una di cm. 5,5x7,5. Anni 1930/1940 circa. Le foto riguardano il viaggio della Nave scuola ALICE dell’Aeronautica Militare nel Mediterraneo. Stretto di Messina, Malta, Campo di Mellaba (Tripoli), Leptis Magna, Baia di Abukir, Famagosta, Bengasi, Barca, Alessandria, Cairo, Rodi, Corinto, Atene... Con una foto dell’incontro in mare della barca a vela del Console d’Italia. Lo yacht ALICE, di proprietà della Regia Aeronautica, è stato utilizzato come nave appoggio idrovolanti per le crociere transatlantiche di Balbo. PRINCESSE ALICE II, costruita da Laird a Birkenhead come yacht e nave per ricerche oceanografiche per il principe Alberto I Grimaldi, completata ad aprile 1898, 1042 poi 930 poi 1067 poi 1094 tonn. di stazza lorda. Venduta a Lord Inverclyde nel 1914 come BERYL, noleggiata dall'Ammiragliato dal gennaio 1915 fino al marzo 1919 col pendant no. 032, nel 1921 alla Commercial Cable Co. come posacavi col nome GEORGE WARD, nel 1925-26 ad Attilio Gatti Spedizioni di La Spezia come ARDITA II, nel 1927 a Tito Campanella di Genova come yacht ALICE. Nel 1930 alla SA di Navigaz. Aerea, Genova, e nel 1933 alla Regia Aeronautica. Utilizzata per le trasvolate di Italo Balbo, dal 1930 nave scuola per l'Accademia Aeronautica. Catturata a Port de Bouc l'8 Settembre 1943, nel luglio 1944 in servizio come SG 23 (Schnell Geleitboot, nave scorta veloce) per la Kriegsmarine, poi prevista come nave appoggio per 16 lance dragamine, autoaffondata a Marsiglia il 27 agosto 1944 nel Bacino Mirabeau, demolita nel 1946/47.
