Zuerst hat die "Viererbande", Maos Frau an der Spitze, ihre Beherrschung der Medien benutzt, um ihre Gegner aus allen Rohren zu beschiessen. Nachdem die Gemässigten in dem dramatischen Konflikt gesiegt hatten, fielen sie in denselben Medien über die "Viererbande" her. Beide Seiten haben dabei eine solche Fülle von Details ans Licht gezerrt, dass dieser Bericht über Ablauf und Ergebnis des Kampfes sich fast ausschliesslich auf chinesische Quellen stützen kann...
