It was because of his specialty in international law that he was sought out by Rabbi Elmer Berger, then director of the American Council for Judaism. The Council opposed the claim of the newly created State of Israel to speak for the Jewish People everywhere. Together Rabbi Berger and Professor Mallison persuaded the Department of State to write a letter stating that it does not regard the 'Jewish people' concept as a concept of international law. Quelche restava della comunità di antichi convertiti al cattolicesimo di Karac: ma "imbevuti delle più ridicole e barbare superstizioni", prima in grotte, poi in casupole, assediati guerrescamente dagli altri Beduini maomettani ("ilbeduino schiva fatica... sua vita è la razzìa, la rapina, la guerra, tiene a vile l'agricoltura..."), la condizionee schiava della donna ecc.; un nuovo villaggio presso MADABA, altopiano di Moab nell'odierna Giordania. Stranamente non fa parola della Chiesa bizantina greco-ortodossa di San Giorgio, né del celebre mosaico bizantino detto "Mappa di Terrasanta" scoperto proprio verso il 1890 durante la costruzione della Chiesa di San Giorgio; anzi, per lui gli scismatici ortodossi somo una dell "due idre infernali, lo scisma e l'islamismo". Dedicated to all of the fighters for a Jewish state. Divided into 5 sections. Georg Mannheim was an Austro-Czechoslovakian journalist and writer. He worked for Bohemia, a daily newspaper, as a political reporter but quit after Nazi powers censored the content of the paper. He founded a magazine called Truth, In which he led a journalistic struggle against fascism in Europe without political consideration (Wikipedia, 2016) . He was blacklisted by the Nazis and placed on their list of banned authors and books. He was arrested in September 1940 and sent to Dachau where he died in 1942. Very Good French First Edition of this scarce book on the Jewish Palestine from Balfour Declaration in 1917 to the White Paper in 1939, by Marc Jarblum (1887-1912) who was the Zionist leader, one of the founders of Po'alei Zion in Poland and also engaged in an underground activity, for which he was repeatedly jailed. The book includes Jarblum's views on the Jewish Palestine in the early 19th century between two important historical events on Palestine: The Balfour Declaration, was a public statement issued by the British government in 1917 during the First World War announcing support for the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine, then an Ottoman region with a small minority Jewish population. And the White Paper of 1939, was a policy paper issued by the British government, led by Neville Chamberlain, in response to the 1936-1939 Arab revolt in Palestine. After its formal approval in the House of Commons on 23 May 1939, it acted as the governing policy for Mandatory Palestine from 1939 to the 1948 British departure. Nella prima come nella seconda Intifada o nella fitta rete di associazioni dedicate all'incontro interculturale o all'emancipazione, la Resistenza delle donne in Palestina resta un punto fermo nelle agitate acque mediorientali. Miriam Marino, grazie alla sua esperienza sul campo, racconta la guerra partigiana dal punto di vista delle sue protagoniste, dando finalmente voce a una storia delle donne molto più intensa rispetto a quanto sia dato immaginare agli osservatori distratti dalla solita informazione mainstream.

Le tome premier contient la plus complète description de l’île de Chypre que l’on eût alors. Le second concerne la Syrie. L’auteur avait séjourné au Levant de 1760 à 1768. Mariti, who was an official of the Imperial and Tuscan consulates, gives an excellent account of the condition of Cyprus during the third quarter of the eightieth century, which is based mainly on his own observations. Volume 1 deals with Cyprus and contains, besides the most complete description of Cyprus then available 5 chapters on Cypriot wines. Mariti travelled the Levant from 1760 to 1768 and spoke both Turkish and Arabic fluently.
