Waddy Frank Vincent; Shipley Maynard; Branigan Frank et al.
Notes on Cases of Sexual Suppression. Little Blue Book No. 1638
Girard KS: Haldeman-Julius 1931. Wraps. Good. Blue wraps. 32 pp. A collection of short pieces on sex and morality including a look at the psychological impact of suppressing the sexual impulses based on two case studies of woman and with a seeming stereotypical view of women by Frank Waddy. Also present is a short piece by freethinker Maynard Shipley in which he seems to advocate the sterilization of some people including those whose genetics may dispose their offspring to blindness or deafness. Shipley takes a dismissive tone to those opposing that view and subtly endorses the eugenics movement. Frank Branigan tackles the subject of vice focusing on Newark New Jersey and its hypocrisy: he cites the very low rate of white prostitutes in the city but notes the media and politicians do not mention the high rate of African-American prostitution in the city as well as the fact that whites are the primary patrons of the African-American prostitutes. GOOD condition. Heavy fading and browning. Haldeman-Julius unknown
