‎Summary The present study explores Greek anti-Jewish writings in Venetian Crete within a framework of Christian-Jewish coexistence. Although Jews were economically and socially integrated, they encountered stereotypes and episodic violence grounded in inherited religious prejudice. Unlike Byzantium, Crete produced no systematic anti-Jewish polemic; hostile views surfaced sporadically in vernacular and didactic texts. Ecclesiastical conflicts among Orthodox, Catholics, and unionists eclipsed Jewish participation. In such a limited circulation of manuscripts of anti-Jewish content in late Venetian Crete, the texts of Manouel Savios and Angelos Gregorios constitute an exception. ‎Summary Attica, the region which surrounds Athens (Greece) is a key area for understanding the transformation of the ancient Roman world to its Medieval successor in the eastern Mediterranean. The outcome of this multi-faceted research on field and monuments which concerns the 4th to 12th centuries forms the backbone of the present volume. Frederick William Hasluck was an English antiquarian, historian, and archaeologist. In 1913 being Assistant Director (1911-15) and Librarian (1906-15) of the British School in Athens Hasluck married Margaret Hardie. As a wedding present, Hardie chose a visit to Konya (ancient Iconium) from the options offered her by her husband, and the couple spent the spring of 1913 there together. Frederick had long been interested in the interplay of Christianity and Islam within the Turkish Empire, and he was gradually to make this a central part of his work. The Haslucks were based in Athens and, over the next four years, had the opportunity to travel widely together in the southwest Balkans. Ragip Hulûsi Özdem, (1893-1943), was a Turkish linguist and politician, who was an early member of the Kemalist modernization movement.
